Welcome to Nico!is the stock stereo searching for fm chanels? if so is the antenna hooked up to your adapter and to the stereo propery? or is the XM searching for stations? has the unit been activated? and it's antenna hooked up properly? (assuming it's a model that uses and external antenna)

I have a factory XM reciever in my trucka nd love it, I do nto listen to air channels anymore

Satellite is line of site, but I'm sure your antenna is omnidirectional. Best place for it is on the roof. I have Sirius, but it sounds like we have similar setups. I have my radio set to 90.3, which seems to be relatively clear of other broadcasts (at least in my area). I just stick the magnetic antenna on the roof very close to the door edge. Occasionally the signal disappears for a few seconds, but it always re-acquires. Nature of the beast

If you are using a WIRELESS FM modulator, it will suck. A hardwired FM modulator will work much better or you can use the Peripheral PXNI RCA level aux input interface.
