What is the lowest price we can expect to pay for XM extended subscriptions? Think the current 12.99 per month offer is rather steep. Are we ALL expected to just sign up with no incentive ? Any thoughts ?

Love the quality of the sound but do think a lot of what is being offered is older or repeated stuff (but do love the sound quality, and can practice my foreign languages too !).

I don't have the XM feature in my Rogue, but I have an XM receiver installed in our Mazda 626. We are on a bi-anual payment plan and pay $79 every 6 months. A bit of a discount, and paying it that way keeps it from restricting our cash flow. I think you can buy service up to 5 years in advance all at once....

Hmmmmm, Very interesting doing the math on this. Am not spending $$$ for an extra 5 gallons of gas every week (improved gas mileage previous car was 21mpg) but now have to give most of that back to XM ?!?

Seem's like the Nissan group should be getting a much better rate with our leverage.

We opted to sign up about three weeks before the 3-month freebie ended on Jan. 2. I ended up getting a Sportscaster free, and stuck it in my '06 Frontier for another $6.99 a month. On the road it's great to keep a favorite channel for 400 miles...I like XM, and with the coming merge with Sirius, the content is just going to get better and better.

Thanks for the reply. Am not sure what you mean though ....for another $6.99 a month.... What is the total amount you are paying for xm ? Understood they have normal 6.99 deal for a second radio BUT what is the total $$$ for just 1 radio ?

thanks.

I really like XM and feel like the $12.95 per month is worth it (especially when compared to the cost of cable tv - and that is essentially what XM radio is - "cable" radio). If you add an additional unit it is $6.99 a month, but you still need to pay the $12.95 a month for the original radio. Or, you can do a prepaid plan for a few months and get a little bit off. http://www.xmradio.com/shop/subscriptions.xmc

I don't really think Nissan should get a special rate not offered to others. Most car manufacturers now offer either XM or Sirius in their automobiles. You mentioned something about signing up without an "incentive" - I think the incentive is that you receive 3 months of XM free after the purchase of your new car. After that it is up to the driver to decide if they would like to continue their subscription or not. I have been with XM for about five years and feel like the money that I have given to them over the years has been well-spent.

We love our XM. It came on our 2004 Accord and I have added it thru an add on audiovox reciever to other vehicles including the RAV I traded for the Rogue. It is so nice to now have it built into the Bose with a nice large display. I paid for a four year service for the Accord and pay quarterly for the Rogue. You can always ask for a discount from Xm and/or pay up front for a longer term to save some cash. NO commercial entertainment is hard to beat, between my Directv HD DVRs and XM my life is commercial free.

FYI Check out discussion here: http://www.fatwallet.com/forum...art=0

Jist of it:

XM is running a special that will give you 1 year of XM at 77 dollars, that works out to be half off.

Use the number 800-682-4114. This can be used for existing and new customers from what it seems. I have done this deal 3 times now, just call in saying I am going to cancel(mention I love but it costs to much). Within a min I am offered the deal again. Good Luck all.

You can always call xm and see what they'll offer you. We've never paid more than $6.99 a month and that's for 3 radios. I got a free year on my car not 3 months. And husband works for Sirius so we dont pay for any of that either lol!

Do you have any insight on the XM/Sirius merger status?

I called (playing dumb) and asked what I need to do about cancelling my "trial" offer when it's up. I just said I loved the programming and quality but the extra cost didn't fit in my budget .She offered me a few months at 4.99/month so I snagged it up!

Won't pick mine up until Friday, did you have to call XM to register the radio, or does it work right off the bat? Thanks for your help

Mine worked right off. Just push the "Radio" button until "Sat" comes up. then tune. My Rogue is the SL with everything. Don't know if they use more than one radio in the Rogue.
