JUST put on my Xentecs last night... and i wanted to see if any of you that have or had Xentecs encountered the same thing.

1. the Ballast is huge... like a small brick. lol I thought I was getting the slim ballast but no cigar - is this a problem?

2. I was sent the wrong adapter/harness to connect to the OEM plug, which I connected anyway and taped them up - is this a problem? has this happened to you guys?

3. the bulbs have no markings of 5000k, and although they are as bright as **** - they look bluish... I know they have supposed to have a slight tint - but how can I tell what I really got???

DO THESE LIKE 5000K??????

4. is the auto switch goin to pose a problem to the ballast/bulb set up? *I got the lows and fogs

*I posted this here because the interior/exterior areas get ignored and you guys are always up for questions...

thanks!

hahaha when i saw the title i was like WTF wrong forum lol..

I have 2 sets of those "big brick" ballasts... 6000k

when a hid fires up... it starts at a different color.. give it a min or too to see it level out... yellow hids start as green..

dont worry about the auto on (imho)

No markings on mine either at all...

Im in the process of returning my xentec kit because one of the ballasts went bad after about a month....

I also have the regular 'brick like' ballasts and I was a little concerned since all they give you is an adhesive pad to secure it to the car. strangely enough, when one of my lights went out and I took off the bumper, I found that one of the ballasts had fallen off and was just sitting there. Even stranger is that that wasnt the ballast that had failed. The one that failed was still firmly attached to the car. Where are you guys attaching your ballasts, and are you using more than the supplied adhesive pads?

YES! I will never trust just adhesive's on there own, too prone to losing bonding especially in high temp areas (i.e. engine compartment) I used zip ties linked together to zip tie it to that metal cross member behind the headlight. That bia isn't going anywhere!

i used the provided double sided tape, as well as the puney zip ties they provided, as well as some of my own heavy duty zip ties.

sounds like you got the wrong kit though dude....i mean if you ordered the slim ballasts and got the regular ballasts, the bulbs are a different Kelvin, and the harnesses are wrong.....sounds like an error in the shipping department and you got someone elses kit....you might want to contact them

did you buy them from Supervtec on ebay?

Those look like 6000ks. I have 5000ks and they're a warm white after a minute or two, not a bright diamond white like that. Also, there is no tint of blue in the 5000ks after the warmup period.

the question you should be asking yourself is if you are happy with it or not. Even if its a mistake and they sent you 3000k (not possible)... but you like the look... rock it! Are you dissapointed or something?

I think it might be the xentec brand because YOURS look just like mine! LOL at an angle they appear a **** hair bluish, then dead on they're the brightest white I've ever seen lol
