So I saw that the Xentec's were going for a steal at $80 a set and i couldnt pass this up. Ordered...and will be here next week (hopefully). Got the 6000k temp for my low beams.

Question for all you city folk like me. Do you ever get a chance to use your high beams?? I don't think I've actually used them while driving.

well i dont know what the law is in other states, but here in washington, you cant have fog lights and high beams on at the same time. My Spec-v was the same way. High beams on = fog lights off

Just do the lows and fogs(plenty of light) Only use the regular highs to flash..HID's in the highs is a waste..plus lots of on/off action will shorten there life..

Yes, i bought the superslim ones.

So i'm really not a big fan of the yellow style fog lights....any recommendations for them? Should i go exotic and get like blue or purple? Or should i just stick with the tried and true 5000k/6000k?

well it depends on what you want.....if you want performance (light output) i would go for the 5000-6000k.....if you just want a cool look (sacraficing light output) i would go for 8000-10000k

how's the quality of these Xentecs?

I want to get McCulloch's...but dunno if it's worth it to just get a cheap set. Are McCulloch's really worth the extra double/triple in price?

i bought the xentec's and put them in this weekend. easy install but the stupid plug that connects the ballast to the stock harness didn't come with the plug finished, it came with the two wires and the plug and you have to stick the wires in the plug yourself. anyways, they look ok/good.

Ive used my highbeams because the stock halogens pissed me off, they werent as bright as i thought headlights SHOULD be so i used them in very small enclosed neighborhoods and streets that i cut through to avoid a few lights. Ever since i installed my HID's, i haven't turned on my high beams once. But i also have foglights now but still, no need for high beams for the time being.

its not that hard....its just plugging the 2 wires into the male/female adapter...it literally took me 5 seconds to do that

i got a couple sets of the slim ballast Xentecs coming to me in the next couple days....i wonder what the extra box is on the wires that lead from the ballast to the bulb.....i have a set of non-slim ballasts in my lows right now and i dont have that extra black box on my wire leading to the bulb.

more than likely they are just a filter of some sort. When i get home, i'll take a good look at them and read through the manual and see if i can determine anything else.

So after taking a good look at them, i'm convinced that the black box is a inline conditioning filter. Because the ballasts are so thin, there wasnt enough room in them to put the filter in the box with the ballast. Basically what it does it make sure the voltage going to the light is clean and consistant.

I also ordered on of these slim kits last Sunday. It arrived on Thursday and I installed them on Friday. Took about 45min. to 1hr. including taking off the bumper. Fairly easy to do and the increase in light is definitely worth it. I let them burn in for about 15 min. and the ballast were only lightly warm. Thats a good thing as I was concerned with them overheating behind the bumper since it seems theres little airflow back there.

i just got mine installed today too....they are sooo much smaller than i thought they would be....theyre maybe the size of 5 credit cards stacked on top or each other......def a HUGE size difference from the regular sized ballasts

Finally a sunny day in washington!!! Installed my Xentec's this morning. Took about 30 minutes total through the fender wells. Would have taken me less time but i had to fight with my driverside bulb...the tabs didnt want to line up correctly on the HID bulb...wasted about 5 minutes....brute force finally prevailed. All i can say is DAMN...these things are BRIGHT. completely drowns out my high beams...of course this is during the day. I'll take pics tonight when its dark...and i'll post before and after comparisons

I just installed my Xentecs, looks GREAT. I've also added in LED turn signals with resistors, and they flash normally and look awesome. I'll post some pics soon...but question: My Auto-Window up is NOT working on either side (driver and passenger). Anyone run into this problem before? The auto-down works just fine...so I doubt a connector is not in place....

This has been discussed a few times before and is actually listed in the manual. Basically roll both windows down...then roll both windows up...holding up on the buttons for about 5 seconds after they are completely rolled up. After that, auto up should work.
