So lately my passenger side HID hasn't been firing up, sometimes it was just delayed and before my battery was replaced it happened all the time. After I got a new battery it was fine and fired up on queue but now it doesn't turn on at all, even after repeatedly turning it off/on; it's a hit and miss sorta thing. So anyways, I was dreading taking off the bumper but I had to, to take a look at what the problem might be and I discovered this:

CORROSION! - I suppose it has been building up over the past 2 winters and it finally went kaput. The funny thing is, I thought I had fixed it by cleaning it off...because the light started working again after...but if I moved the harness around it would shut off. I rewired the ground and crimped the connection with a wire crimper; it is grounded to the same location as the alternator. I figured it was fixed and hoped for the best and ziptied it to a better location where water and salt wouldn't get to it.

However, today I decided to take a short drive and tried the lights again...but same f***ing problem. I guess it's suffice to say I need new relay or do you guys know or think it might be some other issue? I also switched the bulb with the other one and it works just fine, so the bulb issue is out of the question as well. It is god damn frustrating .

I couldn't go get a new relay at the time because it was a sunday and everything was closed . I'm posting this to get some other opinions and some help with troubleshooting. Perhaps other's have experienced the same?

Thanks.

Wow guys, don't all start replying at once!

Bought new harnesses from xenondepot. Funny, their new harnesses have the relays wrapped in weather proof rubber now - me thinks my problem has been common. So for all you out there, heads up when installing your HID kits, wrap your relays in electrical tape, or rubber or seal it with silicone! Don't let this happen to you!

I've learned my lesson.
