Not sure what the status is of "generic" aftermarket kits. Last I had heard, the Fed's had outlawed their sale in the states. Being "up north", you may have access to kits we can't necessarily get here.

If you are good at customization, you can find some HID bulbs and ballast from a salvage yard and perform a little "headlight surgery". Other than that, you could replace the factory bulbs with higher-end.

so in the states there are no high definition or xenon headlamps? what happens to all those luxury sport vehicles, do they just carry regular headlamps, cause i find that hard to believe. i know for a fact in canada we have xenon or hID headlamps, all the audis and higher class model cars have them standard and you see them driving on the street all the time. Its actually more common in canada to see xenon or HID headlamps than regular headlamps, thats why i was wondering if i can get it on my versa.

HID's are fine as long as they are from the factory. I may be wrong, but I believe "hid kits" are not sold here as an aftermarket "kit" for non-HID vehicles. That may have changed, I have HID's and did not have to worry about it.
