Xenon Lights upgrade

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Anybody thinking about upgrading their low beam headlights to Xenon? I didn't think the luxe style package was worth the price. I am looking at upgrading the headlights. Sorry for a repost if this has already been posted. Proud new owner of a Moonlight EX 35.

Love the Moonlight White.

How would you upgrade? With Infiniti (is that possible) or do it yourself (after-market)?

Congrats on your moonlight EX and welcome to NICO!

I have the factory Xenon lights but am finding that the high beam is not as bright as I'd expected. If in your travels you find any info on upgrading the high beams to Xenon (and what actual improvement that would bring), I'd appreciate you posting it.

Cheers,David

part of the luxe style cost was the upgraded wiring for running the lights at a higher wattage as well as the turning parts for the adaptive lighting. Good luck with that....collecting all the parts will probably rival the Luxe Style package.

I am not sure if you have looked around but you can snag a conversion kit for just about any bulb and in most cases you do not need to upgrade any wiring, i have done this on my 99 maxima as well as a few other cars.. I got the lux package since it was almost free when i bought the car.. a good hid kit is normally around 200-250 and should include everything you need and is bulb specific..

that might get you HIDs but it won't get you AFS.

I am looking at the KAIXEN HID conversion kits (6000k). It comes with the ballast and the bulb. For the luxe package, I am not sure it was worth the price for the bigger wheels and HID lights with AFS. $1200 vs $300 shipped. Heck, some of us complain that the stock HID lights aren't bright enough. Again I don't get the warranty from Infiniti so that's the downside but that's my opinion.

I have had an aftermarket kit in my old maxima for over 4 years with zero problems, i am considering getting a kit for my fogs since they are halogen.
