LAQ - Welcome to NICO!

As regards this item, skip it! The Q is notoriously finicky when it comes to bulbs, to the point of causing premature bulb failure to major electrical problems. Do a search here for "bulbs" and enjoy an hour of good reading.

If you want the "blue" look, go with the Sylvania Silverstars (brightest we've found, $40 a pair) or a reputable brand like PIAA ($65 a pair). Also, the bulbs in your car are 55w - Stick with this and avoid the temptation to buy an 80W or higher-wattage bulb, as you can create MAJOR wiring problems in this manner.

Again, welcome to NICO - spend some time with the search feature and enjoy your stay - We're glad to have you on board.

Wagner "Brite Lights" provide the same light (4000K) and wattage as Silverstars at about half the price.

Your 92Q takes 9006/9005 low/high beam bulbs. Same bulbs as other Nissan cars from that year.

marty - your 96 low beams are an H4 bulb, aka a 9003.

Silverstars are the way to go (although I don't know anything about Wagnrs).

Can't recall - Do a search at Sylvania's website (or PIAA's site).

i just recieved my bulbs for my 1996 Q45 from brandsport, i got the wagner 9003 and 9005 britelights... so me and my dad put the hi beams in first and that was easy enough.. and then we try to figure out how to get to lowbeams on. we are baffled. i can see where i think the lowbeams are but there is a big o ring protector of sorts and we couldnt figure how to get it off. even if we did get the wire off it doesnt seem like there would be space for the bulb to get out and back in. can anyone help me? should i take this somewhere so they can do the lowbeams? on another note, the installation worked fine with the hibeams, but i am definitly not impressed with the color/brightness. it seemed clear to me that i was getting whitish/bluish color lighting somewhat like the newer luxury vehicle's HID's. it does not seem that way. if anyone has any opinions feel free to say it. thanks. -marty

I once put in PIAA's, in a 91.I had one bulb in and teh oetrh side was still the old one.

Clear difference, by itlsef the new bulb didnt look any different but in direct comparison the difference was very noticable, brighter and bluer.

But w/o the side by side I would have never noticed.

Marty:Do you have an onwers manual?

Therer is a little twist and turn trick in it , at least in my 91.When I put in bulbs I was stumped at first too since I hadnt botehred to check, but then I looked and they went in w/ no problem.

If you dont have any manuals call me sometime after 430pm and I will explain what my manual says for my 91.

mr. fred

thats what i did, i replaced the ds and left the ps. turned them on facing the wall 3ft away.

i couldnt tell the difference. maybe silver star or piaa will do the trick.

or it has got something to do with headlight casings with pitted surface.

i have heard this was glass, isn't there a way to polish the glass?

I went and looked (almost straight into them from 15 feet away (lowbeam).

The new bulbs looked brighter and had a bit of a blueish tint to them.

Hmm I dunno if I could have told the difference on a wall reflection but probbaly.

Not to my knowledge.

I'd try calling/checking junkyards.Of course most of those will eb pitted too but eventually you'll find one that's better than yours.
