I'm confused, you say go oem, but you give a list of aftermarket companies.

Also what is the rating on the factory bulbs 3500K? Can you use a hotter bulb something like 7000K?

Thanks

Which one is the OEM for Nissan / Infiniti? I thought you meant OEM Nissan brand.

You will need to retrofit HID refelctors or projectors. HID in halogen reflectors is a nightmare. Tons of glare and the lighting is worse than with blue wanna be HID bulbs. You might be able to get away with it with a custom shield to block the unwanted scattered light. If you do decide on a converstion kit go with only Phillps ballasts and bulbs. Any other kits are cheap garbage and you will end up disapointed in the long run. And don't go over 6000k. Anything above is horrible lighting and you can't see in bad weather.

Buy an H4 HID kit off of ebay, 10000K is what I had and I loved it. It costs about 200 dollars but it is worth every single penny. It is what they call a plug and play application and it took me about 30 mins to install, Its a must have item......

Is it effective at all with that color temp?I think it'd be best to just get the factory QX4 headlights and go that route, so you don't lose the high beam, but that's just me :o There'd def. be more expense, and I wouldn't even bother if I had a Pathfinder.

I bet those 70's velvet florescent posters look cool with 10000K. Sure it looks cool but so impractical. Driving in the rain must be a *****. I know the cops around here see glaring purple or blue headlights, they will pull you over and ticket you. I'm taking HID, not ricer bulbs. To each his own I guess. I rather see where I'm going.

How long have you had that kit? It won't last long. They never do. Ballasts go bad, bulbs flicker, en dup having electrical problems.

Go to http://www.hidplanet.com/forum and read up over there before you buy any eBay junk. If your going to put in HID you have to put in the right reflectors or projectors. Halogen reflectors are just not made to handle that kind of intensity and can brown (burn) and glare everywhere.

you cant just buy qx4 headlights and put them in, DUH, if you look close the qx4 headlights are squared off at the top while the pathfinders curl down... you would have to change the hood, grille and fenders to fit, plus buy the headlights and upgrade the harnesses for the HID. Or you could buy the kit its your money

Oh he gets hi beams alright, by drivers in the opposite direction.

I didn't think I needed to chill out on my posts, I'm just stating facts to the uneducated, so lets not start a flame war.

To answer your question, with most HID kits you lose highbeams if you just have one refelctor and not a seperate headlight for highbeams.

Silverstars give the bet light IMO. PIAA are nice but they don't last long.
