I was looking up the XDI system for my 93 240sx to get rid of the distributor on my ka. I have a faint (very very faint) idea of how the system works, trying to read more into them but I haven't had much like finding information on the conversion. Basicaly, it says it's crank fired, so my question is, does that still mean it'll have to be hooked up where the distributor is? My goal is to get the distributor completely out of the way and just seal off that spot, so I figure it be best to just upgrade to direct fire ignition.

Here's the link for the XDI system.http://www.electromotive-inc.com/products/xdi.html

Found the answer, it's run of the crank pulley but can be run off the camshaft from the distributor mount if needed. Guess I posted the question before searching enough, finally just broke down and read the manual, should've done that from the start. Now for step 2: find the magic free money thread so I can afford it.

You gotta find out if that system can interface specifically with the nissan ecu to give it all the signals it needs.

an alternative is megajolt lite, uses edis and 36-1 crankwheel, I run similar setup on my ka. Im not sure how you could make it work using stock ecu for fueling.
