Uhhhh! WTF! They are asking for 400 MS points for a virtual lightsaber. Xbox just had a new update released. I can't believe they are charging soO much for Avatar accessories. I am pissed because I want a lightsaber, but will not pay for it.

thats way too much there trying way to hard to be like playstation . i played on the network and when to the home thing and ppl where making funny of me for not having cool stuff lol i hope the change the price

As for the avatars, I couldn't care less. I kept my old Nod Flame Tank avatar for my profile.

Had this update since it came out and wasn't particularly impressed

The only thing i liked about the new update, was the rating system.There are so many Indie games i never know which are the good ones and dont feel like testing them all out, so i just look for 4/5 and higher ones.

The avatars were a shiit idea from the start, and having to pay for any avatar accessories or clothes is even more shiit.

Something i dont like admitting is that i love having X to Eject......I am that lazy.

Plus Game installs are smaller now....so thats fun too.

Doesnt it start on My Xbox?My 360 isnt setup for Auto Login so i dont know if that makes a difference, but mine always starts at My Xbox.

An R/C Warthog! How cool is that.

Not really caring to pay to upgrade my avatar though. But we got a huge kick out of my avatar using pom poms in the preview mode.

I didn't get too much a chance to look at the rest yet, but I defeinitely want to check out the Netflix upgrade. Being able to browse movies on the 360 will be a very nice feature.

Wow, the Splinter Cell suit is a deal at only 320 points. I'm such a fan of the old Splinter Cell franchise (not sure what to think of the new Bourne Identity style "Conviction" installment) that its only a matter of time before my avatar is kitted out in it.

I really it would be nice if they made it an option to buy or to tell you which game/achievement you have to release in order to get it. Sure you have "awards" but what do you have to DO in order to get it and what do you get?

I mute all the randoms and listen to music because they all talk crap and ruin the aspect of a game sometimes. Especially the angry Halo3 players. "You're guys are such a shxtty team! And awards havent been released yet so be patient, avatar award will be visible just like achievements are visible so relax. the reason nothing is their right now is cuz no games support it yet and as such no awards are ready

As for radio its gonna be last fm, i dont pay for last fm cuz if u use firefox u can download all the mp3s direct from lastfm without paying.But as far as i know last FM will be streamable to Xbox360....i dont use last much, but the people who do will love it, cuz all the POP tracks are on lastfm.

KV just plug in your mic and toss it somewhere thats what i do no stupid voices. Or start a party. I haven't really had a chance to play much with the new update i havent been home since i downloaded it. Paying for avatar upgrades makes a gayer feature even gayer. Who the f*** came up with that one. Avatar games are just as dumb imo.

You're doing it wrong. Follow them around and just keep their shields down enough that the other team kills them easily.

Actually, its easy to deal with annoying chatter. Mute them. Typically its only one or two people that are annoying and I can typically figure it out before the game actually starts.

I started using Netflix BECAUSE of its availability on the 360. I can use my existing remotes, I don't have to figure out a way to route another cable to my TV and now with the ability to browse movies on the 360, it is seriously convenient.

Gold Member Veterans - Xbox LIVE Gold members get to show it off with a stamp on your Gamer Card that tells people how long you've been a Gold member.

I like this feature.......mine says 4 years.

I've had an XBL subscription since the original Xbox. Don't see how it gives me any advantage. All it means is I'm out more money for sub fees than other people.

+1. Lol, I've been on live forever....

There was actually something good about the update too. It fixed the buggy guide button command. Every time I would hit the guide button, it would take like, a year and a half to open up the dashboard thingy, and then trying to navigate through it would take forever. Like, say you're in a game and you want to leavel negative feedback or file a complaint, it would take forever for me to do so in a game. Or if I got a game invite during a game, if I hit the guide button to get to the request and then use it, it would also take forever. I've noticed that the system has become much 'snappier' since the update, and things move much quicker than before.

conclusion.....This guy is using a new account to get ahead. This has been happening more often, people starting new accounts so they can have a better record. I just want to be able to determine if I lost because of skills or just plain luck.

Thats bullnose.If your account ever reverts to silver even for a second the counter start again. So mine says 1 but ive been on live since 1961.

The counter thing is just a gimmick, a useless gimmick at that, i doubt anyone would use it for anything, cuz honestly ur whole dummy account checking will not work cuz accounts revert from gold to silver and back to gold all the time.

I thought it would count regardless of account type, then you would be able to tell how long someone has had the account for real....it just counts gold membership status.

Ahh yes you are correct, it adds up all the months regardless of whether they are consecutive or not. My mistake, i failed grade school comprehension.

On TopicA new feature i just noticed, was that now i can launch games from the achievement browser, while this isnt particularly important, sometimes i would find myself browsing through my achievements and then see an Arcade game i believe my skill has improved in, and i just press Y to launch said game. Very convenient.

Im discovering new little efficiency tweaks here and there and im loving them.

Avatars were useless to me from the get go, so i dont care about paying for accessories and what not, IDK cuz i never really see the fuuker, and i never remember what my friends Avatars look like.

The only way I can see avatar accessories being neat is if they're rewards for achievements. That way they actually mean something. Paying money for them or playing paper-doll dressup is pointless and stupid.

If you got a portal gun for completing Portal and the advanced chambers, that would be awesome. Or the grav gun for finishing HL2. Or Altair's cloak for finishing Assassin's Creed with 100% completed missions. That kind of thing.

I would like to see something like this as well. Achievement points are all well and good, but something like you mentioned would be nice.

Bioware has done something like this with Mass Effect, rewarding players with two exclusive gamerpics for beating both the hardcore and insanity difficulty levels.

Rumor has it that the awards section on the dashboard is going to include Avatar swag.Whether accessories will also be included is unknown, but its pretty much confirmed that certain achievements will unlock shirts and other garb for Avatars.
