Hey I just got hooked up to xbox live yesterday and my earpiece works good, but my mic wont pick up my voice unless I put it really close to my mouth, or I talk very loudly. Someone I wor with explained how to adjust it on the old style dashboard, but to run xbox live, I had to "upgrade" to a really difficult to use dashboard. How do I set my Mic sensitivity on this new dashboard, or how do I switch back to the old one?

Car: SOMETHING from the R series (Legendary), or a specifically-marked Silvia.

I JUST went to go look and I went through all the options, and I didn't find a way to change the sensitivity of the mic. I'm pretty sure that you'll just have to bend the mic closer to your mouth, I'm naturally a quiet speaker so I have this problem too.

Don't let my not finding anything discourage you or anyone else from looking, I just scanned through really fast.

Also, I'm pretty sure there is no way to downgrade your firmware, as that would/might disassociate you from XBL. You'd be all alone.

Wow, I didnt know we had a gaming forum lol

Anyways, it's that stubby camo one, so no bending the mic for me. It was a christmas present so I'm gonna go and see if I can get a better one for exchange + Price difference.

I don't recall ever seeing a mic level adjustment in either dashboard.

However, its likely the mic itself that is the problem. Some are just more sensetive than others. I used a cheap GE headset that was made for use with a cell phone or cordelss phone for years. Worked great, but it eventually broke and I couldn't find it anymore. The mic on it was fairly sensetive though as other people could hear my GF through it when we were playing.
