It's cool though.

While the indicent of use of the RCA connections on that dongle might be rare, with so many potential configurations, the flexibility is nice to see. One potential scenario could be if the system is connected to a TV that only has DVI. One could use an adapter to convert it to DVI and will still need the audio into the TV done through standard analog. Potentially, even a HDMI equipped TV could be coupled with a set of computer speakers for the audio and use an RCA to 3.5mm jack adapter to use the PC speakers. My TV/Monitor at work has terrible built-in speakers so I'm using a set of PC speakers instead. It has HDMI, but the 360 I keep connecrted to it was an early model and only is connected via component. I use the headphone out from the TV for the speakers, but not all TV's have that either.marlin29311 wrote:Would you like an optical cable with that too?
I think the main concept of having the HDMI cable negates the need for having the audio connector - HDMI handles the audio, and most people don't have killer setups with 5.1 and what not, so you already have your audio bundled in with your shiny new HDMI cable too. I actually think the RCA connectors are a waste and it should just be an optical out, seeing as you could just use the Audio Out on the TV to do the same thing and have the audio feed sent via HDMI...
