they tested something like this on 5th gear on speed

it worked perfect, but you have to install it just right for it to work, apparently people wouldnt follow directions and theyd just throw it on then wonder why the cops still knew...

Post the results if it works Wes....

I went to Bloomington, Indiana for Thanksgiving in the Q45. I was coming home and got picked off by a State Trooper with lazer in Western MD. 81 mph in a 65 mph zone.... $75 fine....

I can't seem to keep the Q45 even close to the speed limit on the highway. It seems like the natural cruising speed for me is about 80 mph.

I'm trying to do some community service and pay a reduced fine to avoid getting the points...

Please let everyone know if that jammer works....

I wasn't there for a really long time though. I did cruise past Anderson on I-69 on my way to Shipshawanna. My brother is an antique dealer and buys antiques up there at an Amish Auction House.

My next trip home (to the Great Hoosier state) I'll try to look you up. My wife is from Kokomo!

read this site and make yoru decision http://www.radarbusters.com

If you need a detector, you drive too fast on a regular basis. Not saying I dont get a little speedy on occasion.

Anyway, they are not legal here, and probally in most places. I dont care what the web site says. Jammers are illegal. Check your states laws on jammers. I would bet money they are illegal, by your states laws, even if the FCC says the are not.

I will also tell you a general rule for most officers. If they stop you for speeding, and you have a detector in your car, you are going to hold a ticket. They figure you are a habitual speeder and there for wont cut you any slack.

Anyway, just my $0.02.

i've seen that website before, they also say that the rocky mountain radars(the ones from the first link) dont work and are crappy

and i agree with jester, and how if a cop pulls you over and sees the radar, they're not gonna be very nice and yur probably gonna get the ticket

Yeah, but if you have 7 tickets on your record, your definitely getting another one anyway. Heck, if you even have 1 your going to get another. I'm convinced the only way your getting out of a ticket is with an EXCELLENT legitimate reason for speeding (wife in labor, etc.) or if you've never had one before and you weren't excessively speeding. I know once I got my first, I never got a warning. Best to minimize the chance of getting more eh?

Depends on the cop. A guy in my class got pulled over in his Z28. The officer ran his license then returned and handed it back to him, laughing. She let him off with a warning cause he had so many tickets on his record that one more would have gotten his license suspended.

by law, active laser jammers are perfectly legal.

active radar jamming is very illegal. unless you have an FCC license, then you may get away with it because you would have transmission priority over the officers. [you would have to devise a way of incorporating you call sign into the "noise" you would be transmitting]

As far as I know, Ivory is correct. This definitely may be an NFI (needs-further-investigation) topic. While I contracted out for private security I had access to certain jammers and 'somehow' gained access to a MIRT. Of the two I'd prefer the MIRT because I now obey all traffic speed laws but everyone hates getting stuck at a light. Especially a long light.

A MIRT is the device that police, ambulances, and fire departments use to turn the traffic lights from red to green. It's only, officially, supposed to be used by state or municipal law enforcement or emergency/medical organizations and it's 'almost' impossible to get if you are not one of the above listed. Almost.

I swear those are the jammers advertised in the back of Car and Driver and other mags. There has to be a reason people are still buying radar dectectors instead of those jammers.

Curious about MIRT, too...

Edit: I dont know those things were real. I saw one in the movie Ronin and dismissed it as 'Hollywood' technology. Actually, they used it to turn the traffic light red in the movie...

Thanks for the clarification, thats what I thought you were talking about but wasn't certain...I've considered trying to "borrow" one from the police, but that has to be one of the stupidest ideas I've come up with ever.

The things you learn when you're fighting evil. Ever heard of an ERT? It's no relation to the MIRT but they sound the same and both can save you money. An ERT is the device that allows the gas company to receive an electronic reading on a gas meter without ever getting out of their trucks. Theory is if you can hack into your ERT you can save money on your natural gas bills. If you can get your hands on a MIRT, you can save money on your petroleum gas bills. Funny how that works with the words, huh?
