I was looking at the wheels on the Q45 today and was wondering...

Can the wheels be used as radiators for the disc brakes? The reason I say this is because the Wheel directly contacts the disc brake, and it transmits heat.

What is the best material for the wheels to be made out of to promote the best cooling for the discs?

Yes. I think Q45Tech recently posted something on this. I think on circletrack.com under brake tech there is a graph of temp. dispersion. The best thing is to keep the hub, rotor and wheel clean, -with some anti seize or heat sink compound put in there.

Aluminum has always been the best material for dissipating heat. Know of any aluminum wheels?

You're being sarcastic right? Isn't aluminum itself too weak?

Arn't there wheels made of Aluminum alloys?

I'd like to hear what Q45Tech or one of the other knowledgable engineers has to say about this.
