Speaking of expensive Cali gas, what the hell happened??? It was like 1.60, then it went up to 1.70 and stuck there for awhile. Then I went to get gas last week and it was 2.01, nearly **** my pants. And I was *****ing about the 350 miles I get out of my old KA (I used to get 400 no prob).

THERE WAS A "FIRE" AT ONE OF THE GASOLINE REFINEMENT PLANTS IN CALIFORNIA A FEW MONTHS BACK THAT IS NOW CATCHING UP TO US.

ITS A FRICKEN JOKE THAT WE HAVE TO PAY $2/GALLON FOR GAS AGAIN.

There is a primer giving some info as to why CA gasoline prices are so much higher than the rest of the country here:

http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil....html

Clean air -> special gas requirements -> few producers -> low supply -> high cost + high volatility

SOMEONE IN SOCAL COULD HELP YOU..... OR YOU CAN BRING IT HERE AND ME AND CAM COULD HELP YOU.

RICHNESS IS O2 SENSOR (FOULED LIKE MINE BECAUSE IT WAS ADVANCED SO FAR), FIX THIS AFTER THE TIMING AND IDLE IS ADJUSTED.MISFIRE IS FROM BAD TIMING/IDLE.YOUR VACUUM LEAK SHOULDN'T BE HARD TO FIND (I HAVE THE R32 ENGINE MANUAL).

JUST LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ANY HELP.

Where you guys located? im tryin 2 find the right shop 2 take my car n get it fixed, but everywhere i take it so far wants major money and tells me that i should just get a new engine. When i just hav missfiring... whats your email? i think i might have a bad coil pack, it sounds like my valves r tickin, i dont even know if its running on all 6 cylnders. my timing is really screwed up. i found the vacuum leak but i dont have anything 2 close it up, the guys that worked on my car put a bottle cap upside down! wtf is that...

Quote »government officials say "we need to stop this, get to the bottom of it, find out what's causing this problem." Yet we never see any answers, prices keep rising, and no one knows why...[/quote]

That site that was posted above gave a layout of what the price per gallon is made up of...

31% of the price is taxes...

If you paid for gas that was tax free in 2002, Then the average price of gas would be $0.93 per gallon....

(1.35 x .31 = .4185 1.35 - .42 = $0.93)

Above is only a look at gas prices, don't take it too seriously

I'm not exactly sure how many miles I get per tank of gas since I never let it run too low. But I always average 19-21 mpg. I don';t think that's too bad considering I have a heavy foot. My convertible 240 with a KA only gets about 14 mpg, but it's got some issues.
