The BMW 1 series is coming out Spring 2008. Anyone tempted to trade in your G for a 135i?

No thanks I have to use my car every day. I don't want to worry about my car when I drive. I want reliable car not going with BMW. Maybe if they go back and start making reliable cars with nice interior and they sell them in competitive price.

I can't see that happening.

Nope, for little power and then not that customizable ... think about a SC kit is up to 40K usually 16K for it.

Driving a BMW feels like driving a .... air plane ... always afraid to do anything or else... its back to the dealership ... another time in the same week.

I gave the 1 Series some thought before placing my order for a G37.

BMW is touting car car as the 2002 reborn. I doubt that very much. I owned a 1973 2002 for three years. It weighed something like 2200 pounds. The only powered function was the brakes; steering, seats, windows, door locks and sun roof were all manually operated. The 1 Series will weigh a thousand pounds more and have power everything.

Although the actual car may look better, what I have seen in photos is butt ugly. What happened to the timeless elegance of the 2001 to 2004 E46 models?

I wanted to test drive a 328i coupe, but no dealer within 250 miles had a manual transmission car in stock. The same will probably be true for the 1 Series.

The 1 Series is almost a year away. You can use up the rest of your life waiting for the next model because it promises to be better than anything currently available. In the absence of the G37, I would have bought a G35 6MT coupe.

A friend of mine has the 120i in South Africa and says it drives very nicely. I can imagine the 135i being a real pocket rocket and probably a lot closer in terms of driving experience to the E46 (ie. 1999 to 2005) model 3 series. So I suspect it will be very nice to drive. Having said that, since I just sold my 330i because of service issues with BMW, I definitely would not get the 135i unless BMW did something about their service.
