ok im 17 and i still drive my parents cars...im about to be a senior and im looking for a car to call my own....i have about 7500 cash and my top 6 cars or the ones im most interested in are the 94-99 integra gsr/ls....the 91-93 240 sx .... 95-98 240sx ..... 92-96 prelude... 97-99 prelude.... or the 95-99 maxima i know a lil bit bout each of the cars but not much....what i want to acomplish buying one of the 5 cars is....exterior looks...and some kind of speed....fast enough to beat some...or even most of the cars on the road...i dont want to have a nice looking car then it cant beat anything out thier.....i know u can get a cheep 93 240sx and get an engine swap...but how fast is the quarter mile times with that swap....and im scared if i buy that car that the electronics are so old ill have to replace everything so im leaning twards the newer 240.....but then thiers the integra and prelude both are more reliable than nissian..and i know the prelude si and the integra ls can handle turbos...if i go that way...but im jus wondering wut car would give me enough speed to beat most cars out thier and witch would give me the most relieability cuz i dont want to keep fixing a broke down car......i need a car soon and i really dont want to buy something that cant do wut i want it to .....post quartermile times if u have them...and 0-60 times...

Well reliability shouldnt be an issue depending on the mileage. Nissans are my favorite but I also respect the other cars on the list. They are all reliable. I have a few questions.

1) What do you want more FF or FR?2) How much power do you want to make?3) Do you care about low end torque?4) Will you care for a back seat?5) What swaps are you looking at for the 240? Im guessing the SR20DET so which one S13 or S14?6) How much are you willing to spend on any of these cars?

Once you give me some feedback Ill voice my opinions.

i want to make enough power to run around 6 sec 0-60s or a lil higher than six but no more than 7 the back seat doesnt matter that much aslong as thier is actually a seat thier i want to atleast have the back row so incase i my friends want to ride with me...i know thier isnt to much room in any of the cars except the maxima but its thier choice if they wana be cramed and about the swap im not sure what is better...? for witch car...? the new or old 240...but my main goal is to run low 0-60 so i can beat people at a stop light u know....i dont go over 60 on a normail road until the highway and even then dont go over 85...so im mostly for acceleration times i have 7,500 now and i get about 700 a month from my job so about 300 a month every month would go twards car...

OK here's my picks for FF1. 95-99 Maxima(95-96 are easier to mod)2. 97-99 Lude3. 94-99 GSR

For FR1. S142. S13(2nd cuz its older)

Any of those cars can get 6.0 second 0-60s, but it might be harder with the 240. I think the Max is 6.4, but IDK bout the rest.

If you get an S13 you probably want the S13 SR20 redtop or the blacktop, which costs more. That engine could go into the S14 as well but if I were to do a swap into an S14, Id prefer the S14 SR20 instead of the S13 engine, but thats just my preferences.

If you go with Honda you will be suffering from a loss of torque, but with the Nissans there will be plenty of low end torque. From stop light to stop light, Id say go with a nissan because of the low end torque. Hondas are high reving engines so their peak power would be at the upper RPMs. Just something to think about.I reccomend that you head over the Maxima section and take a look at the Maximas there. There are a few that are pretty quick. A 14 sec 1/4 mile shouldnt be hard. Those Ludes and GRSs can be quite the monster as well you you should do some research on those as well.

Mine actually is the POS aka Ghetto Mobile aka the third vehicle of the family so I drive it. Ill have my own towards the end of this year. A 5 speed is capable of 15.5s or higher. Since mine is auto and has VERY high mileage, Ill probably run a 16-16.5 in the 1/4.

Hmmm....I just noticed that you live in NY. Well so do I. What part do you live in?

Now that I think about it, the snow might be a problem with the RWD 240. I want an S14 soooooo bad, but in the end I decided to get a 5 speed Max later this year. They are very reliable cars and even though mine is crap it still pulls pretty good.

My two cents...

If you want a GREAT handling car (true sports car handling), with the option of additional power/turbo...I would get a 240.

But then again I have a biased opinion...I already own one.

an S14 of course....(again I have one...)

But if your on a tight budget...I would seriously consider the S13.

Try to find one that is stick and has a stock LSD.

LOL! I just looked at the profile right above mine and figured it was yours, but I guess it was mine.

Since thats cleared up Im down with either an S14(great handling and quite a few power options) or the Maxima(a V6, 4 door, with a lil luxury, decent speed and handling).
