Well since you couldn't have been anymore vague in your question I am going to go out on a limb here and ask you what do you plan on painting flat black?

I tend not to answer questions nicely to people who can't spend that extra one secound to type "What" insted of "Wut..." Why should I spend thirty secounds to answer if you can't take that extra secound?

Relax, Kenrik, some people just need "special attention" sometimes that's all.

You would put it in the 240sx Silvia forum or the General Chat...

Don't Spraypaint your car... that's ghetto and expensive ($5 a can X a ****load of cans) you can take it to a paintshop and have them prime it flat black if that's what you're looking for. The KA fourm is for talking about all things related to the N/A KA engine

holy ****, ive never seen a can of flat black paint for 5 bucks a piece. i must be at the wrong stores...who knows. walmart has them for 98 cents a pop. just use those, unless you want the "high quality" paint, but since your going to flat black it then im not sure if it really matters..make sure your AC works real well.

the walmart can tonynalli is referring to is like blue w/ little yellow highlights. It is the only spraypaint in the walmart paint section thats for 98 cents shouldnt be too hard to find

Go with a brand that adheres well to the body, you can usually check the back of the can at the store but I am guessing you should go with Krylon or something like that. Do have pics of your car now? I kind of like what SCC did with their project silvia, flat black is cool. If you actually used it as the color that would be awesome, just paint it flat black and then have them spray some clear coat over it!

If you spray paint your car flat black, please keep in mind they don't last nearly as long as real paint, so you will have to paint again and again, even w/ a clear coat - washing will also be kind of a ***** w/ leaking paint - but you probably aren't going to wash that often.

Lastly, if you even plan on painting the professionally, they will most likely charge you more for prep work since it's a ***** to do w/ spray paint.

If you do it right, you can get it to look reallll nice, there was a member on here who did an enamel like blue, looks great.

I've seen rust-o-leum in action, real nice enamel black on bare metal - perhaps you want to prep your car some so it won't look completely like ***.

I have seen both good and bad primer jobs, mostly bad.

after you paint, i would put 2 coats on anyway, but i would go with 1500 grit first to get all the high spots and drips out, then finish it with 2000, just remember to WET sand it, it keeps the paper clean and removes the dust off the paint as well.

yeah i'm a newbie to this forum but wow i just gotta say man why would you even ask something like that? flat black is flat black.. there's nothing special about it.. black is just well black there's no other type's of flat black. LOL just go to the store and buy 4 or 5 cans and to help you out better there will only be "ONE" type of black there on the self... wont be any other's of black. hahaha.

i done my 240SX with black spray paint didn't even primer it.. took me 4 cans and i did it becasue my 240 was a green color that would make you puke and that's the only reason why I did mine.
