This car was rear ended at ~30mph. Trunk lid buckled, right rear side of bumper pushed in ~8in (that's what buckled the trunk lid), left front fender scraped & wrinkled, Drivers door hinge bent making drivers door a little hard to close.
Car is driveable. 166Kmi on odometer. Engine running good - no smoke or noise. Recent transmission replacement - shifting smooth. Leather interior is pretty good - a couple of small scrapes on seats. 99 Q45 16in wheels. New Tokico struts & shocks. New battery. New windshield. Car had some hail damage before the accident - dent popper could probably fix.
Insurance says ~$8500 to fix but book trade-in value is not that high ... so they totaled it.
What's it worth to ya ?

Folks, I need to sell the whole car outright. I don't have time to part it out myself. I'm trying to estimate a value for the car. Can someone make an offer ?
I'm thinking the parts might be worth:
engine = $750trans = $400seats = $250headlights = $75doors = $250struts & shocks = $150radio+cd chgr = $150rear end = $150wheels = $400misc = $500----total = $3075
Does that seem right ?

Some of the items you listed at below what you could get, and some above, but the "net/net" is you'll only egt that kind of money if you part it out. The whole car sold as "parts" would get you maybe $1,000-1,200. I know that seems low, but it's reality.
If you choose to part it out, take requests with offers, if not you might be better off to let the Ins Co take it.

The parts will net you $2-3K.
Unfortunately, 166K on the engine will drive the value of it down some.
If you want to make some money on it, and can stand to wait for the return, buy it from the insurance company, and have someone local part it out and give you the first $1K.

This process is looking inconvenient for me unless there is someone local that wants to take it on. I asked my favorite mechanic but he didn't want the hassle or risk.

If I can make a worthwhile profit from the deal with minimal hassle then I'll be glad to work the transaction with the insurance co. So, this still depends on someone local buying the car from me and parting it out to you guys. Are there any volunteers in the DFW are who have a garage or lot to to store the car and time to part it out ?

Just curious how closely the insurance company follows something like Edmunds estimates.
