I am trying to find a downpipe that bolts up to the stock exhaust header on my 90ish 240sx - I've done an SOHC to DOHC swap, and am going turbo after about 1000 miles of break-in. The problem is, I don't have an exhaust for the time being and the pain in my ear drums from driving with an open header along with the burning eyes from the exhaust creeping into the cockpit is a little too much to bear.

SO, I've looked around on ebay and other places to see if I could find a downpipe that's a "stock" replacement because I don't want to spend the hundreds of dollars on an N/A header that i'll use for <1000 miles. If I could find one used locally I would since not many private sellers are willing to ship such an awkward item. All I found on ebay are bullcrap SR20 parts :P (no hate) or longtube headers for the KA that essentially get rid of this "downpipe".

Am I missing something or does China not see the market for a cheap bolt-on part that people will buy because they think will make their slowish NA KA go faster? LOL

Many people will have those laying around (myself included soon).

Some have gotten the SR20 downpipe to work, but that just be on S14s.

Keep checking ebay, thats where I found mine at. BTW the one from a SOHC fits a DOHC just incase it becomes a question.

Whats wrong with the one in the pic? Why get a new one if you have a stock one... i dont think a downpipe on a stock KA is going to do much...

I guess my OP was too long for you to read, but I did mention that I currently have open headers and no other form of exhaust. The picture you're seeing is one I snagged from google, not something I took a picture of. I clearly stated my situation (or at least thought I have).

I wish I had known the sohc works. I woulda kept it! I figured because the header port spacing was different the flange on the exhaust would be too so I didn't think about it.

full headers are $75 on ebay, or buy a used one on craigslist then sell it when you don't need it.

I'll see what I have laying around though..

Sorry about that, Idid rear it all. Most of the time when people say they are running open header they mean from the downpipe aka right before the cat.

If i where you i would just go for the cheap $75 headers, They are all over the place for under $100 on ebay.

LOL that's called open downpipe :P

I find plenty for specified 95-98, obviously the flanges on the exhaust port are the same but what about form/fitment with the s13 chassis?

From what i know, and please don't quote me on this, They will fit. From what i have seen on my quick google search there are people running them, But they will not bolt up to your s13 exhaust ( not a problem for you)
