We do have a political section, man.

Why do you ignore it?

Did you read the rules about posting political stuff in Gen CHat? No.

Probably the same reason everyone refuses to post appropriate media in the multimedia forum instead of gen chat.

People always talk about how this guy makes such stupid threads but I thought they were just picking on him... Probably because I always get his name mixed up with the hype guy and never know who posts what...

But man is this a dumb thread. If the rest are even close I support the opinion that your an idiot 100%.

Look at the sizes of the places your talking about, and consider that canda is MUCH more stable... which helps with the whole government funding thing....

Ugg, no thanks. People who don't know politics discussing politics makes me want to punch my self in the face.

Worst part is I don't know ANYTHING about politics... So I can't even set them strait, only thing I can do is point out they are as dumb as I am.

It's not the horses themselves, it's the people in the carts that follow the military around with shovels

...

That all falls under the maintenance budget of said horses. I hear their Horse Ops Squadron can hit life size targets with a bow&arrow at 75 yards.

are you retarded? The only thing you can come up with is the size of the two countries? lmao

Israel is surrounded by enemies. I even think they're downplaying how much they really spend.

You might be. You've either been smokin' to much in the Country (Republic) of Kaliforn-I-A or breathing too much of their air.

The size of the country has a lot to do with it. A bigger country requires more bases, longer convoys, more area to patrol which means more fuel, and other things as well. They also have Russia directly north of them. Israel is a smaller country, so they can have fewer bases allowing them to consolidate costs. If the amount of money spent was correlated with the number of enemies surrounding you, we shouldn't be at the top either. Now you should ask, what are we Yanks planning?

Why are you so concerned? Think they'll bomb the San Andreas fault and send you guys off into the ocean?

1. Per capita income is higher: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L...apita

2. Population is higher: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L...ation.

Hence, total GNP is higher.

So, actual amount of spending is somewhat higher, although expressed the percentage of the GNP or per capita, it is much lower.

Reason? I dunno ... it is their choice, I suppose.

Are YOU retarded? Have you seen HOW much bigger? War or not if you are planning to defend yourself the size of your fighting force is going to depend on how much territory you have to cover.

If you look at it by population Canada has 33,754,000 peopleIsrael has 7,411,000

If you considered the typical fighting force to be a percentage of the population Israil would have to quadruple theirs because of war to even equal Canada. Maintaining an Army is expensive, Canada has 4 times the people to tax, and those people actually have money and income to take that tax from...

But more importantly, land mass to defend. Picture is worth a thousand words here...(hopefully photobucket or the forums don't scale down the size here)THIS is Israel:

THIS is Canada:

Granted there is a lot more s*** happening in Israel, but you could fill the f***ing place shoulder to shoulder with soldiers and they would still be fairly spread out when distributed through Canada. It will always take a larger force to defend a bigger land mass. Sure there is a lot going on in Israel, and that will push the numbers up... But still its like 1/50th the size of Canada. Why would the have the same amount of defense?

Canada isn't necessarily as big as it looks on a flat map. As someone mentioned earlier, a better measure is per capita or as a percentage of GDP, not by dollar amounts. Dollar amounts tell you nothing in this case.
