ok so some of you remember me crying about my rims eating curb thanks to my son. well guess what??? He freaking crashed my Charger!!!!!!!!! Its nothing bad just a bad scratches and dent on the bumper and the headlight is cracked. happened right in front of my house. he was making a left turn into our driveway and he was waiting for the oncoming car to pass by. his foot slipped off the brake and the car started going. He ended up hitting the other car head on. it was a really low speed accident. the other car got the same damages but it scared the **** out of my son. he called me at work all choked up and couldn't even talk. poor guy. I told him to calm down, it was ok. the only thing that mattered was that he was ok and that he didnt injure anyone. no cops were involved so he lucked out there. after everything was all done i called him adn told him, hey my deductible is 500, i don't have 500 so guess who's getting a job to fix the car?. Im not really mad at all cause i remember when i messed up my dads car!! I guess it all comes back on you. anyone here ever messed up their parents ride?

oh yeah also, in my job I work with insurance companies constantly and if you ask your insurance company sometimes they willl give you competing bodyshops numbers and the body shops will compete to pay part of your deductible to get the business. They do it all the time, I work in autoglass and we do it constantly paying up to half the deductible or covering the whole thing just to get the business because insurance companies pay well. i.e: selling the windshield with installation to the customer may be $300.00 but the shop would get $800.00 going through the insurance company.

yeah I work for an Insurance company too its funny cause when my wife was talking to the other kids dad he was being all aggresive with her and wanted cash. but as soon as she said I worked for an insurance company his whole attitude changed he started being all polite I just talked to my insurance company and they got me set up for an appointment next week. what they will do is have a appraiser look at it and cut me out a check minus the 500

I rolled my mom's VW Rabbit when I was 17 and lived in Germany. Didn't really roll it all the way, just flipped it on its side going way too fast around a curve. I ended up in the Wing Commander's fence. My dad was pissed. Right afterward he put me in his car and made me take the turn again at the proper speed. Best thing he could have done for me.

It'll be alright. I'm still waiting for my 16-year-old to do something to his Tacoma - just a matter of time...

Most definitely.. I rolled my car into a glass door because my cellphone dropped from my lap and I didn't put it in park...1-3 mph

I rear ended a guy when trying to change the music to my music player... Thought traffic was moving and it slammed shut in my face... 15mph

I rear ended another guy when changing the station on radio...5mph

I've since solved those issues no accidents in quite a long time... Must be because I respect the vehicle that I drive and not some sentra that I beat around.

Glad he's ok first off. My parents didn't let me drive until I bought my first car. So I worked odd jobs in the neighborhood until I was able to buy my first car. It was a 1972 Chevy K5 Blazer, Bronze and white - nicknamed "The Bronze b0mber". It was a good vehicle to learn with as it was built like a tank. First wreck was with someone else at the wheel of my truck. He flipped it 8 times. I walked away with a bump on the head, he was not so fortunate. Hopefully your son got a little wake up call and realizes how much he needs to pay attention and have control of the vehicle. The job may make him appreciate the cars even more.

I think it did. He seems to be more aware of things when he drives now. And I think your right, once he gets ajob and pays for the stuff we add to the car, he would appreciate and value it more
