low fuel with a range of 106 miles? how the hell is that even low fuel? i had almost 1/2 tank and when i started my car this came up. i turned it off and then turned it back on and it went back o normal. one time i was low on gas and on my way to the gas station, the car died on me (across the street from the gas station lol) with it just about to hit the empty line... it didnt even hit the line yet and it died on me. my thing is totally in accurate... any one else having problems like this? i'm thinking about taking it to the dealer tuesday... what do you guys/girls think?

So gas is cheaper if you already have half a tank?

could be the road that youre on too. If you park your car next to a curb where your car tilts to the right, you'll see the gas gauge go down. Then if you try moving your car to a leveled road, gas gauge is gonna go back to normal.

ya i agree with you, my drive way is really steep and my gas always goes up after i leave my house... but in the pic (i was at my friend's house), it saw that i had gas in the car, a range of 106 miles but it still came on as low fuel. i saw that and i was like WTF?!!! lol

I was wondering is there a light that turns on by the gas meter when its about to hit your emergency gas? whenever my screen tells me i have --- more miles i just fill it up to be safe.

I think the steepness of the hill you're on has something to do with it.

I think the gas needle is based on how much gas you have in your tank... and the low fuel warning is based on WHERE the gas is in your tank? Dunno if that makes sense or I just didn't explain it right.

Usually... my low gas warning comes on at about 20 miles left or so. When I'm nearing that range say 30-40 miles left and I park on my gf's driveway which is really steep... when I turn on my car to go home, it will say low fuel but the range will say 41 or so.

I think your car is broken/flawed. A normal car shouldn't be doing this.

Mine came on once at 92 miles, didn't think much of it, hasn't returned yet...maybe its a thing where the instantaneous calculated mpg (bar gauge) was like 1 mpg coming from a start which feeds into the calculation and gave a warning? Gotta be electronics right?

Mine usually comes on around 40-45 mile mark. Quick question for you: do you top off your gas a lot? I only ask because topping off is very bad for the fuel system and sometimes causes whack things to happen to the fuel system lights. Topping off causes something with the vapor lines or something like that.

My gas light normally pop's on as I'm just hitting a quarter tank and tells me I have like 24 miles left. Then as I keep driving the miles just keep going up, kinda weird unless it's recalculating based on the way I'm driving (sounds about right)

Mine is pretty much the same...at about 1/4 tank I get a warning then it goes up until thats about halfway gone (1/8th of a tank i guess??) I always fill it up then bc I dont want to test it

it's when you continue to zero out the $$ amt on the gas pump after it automatically clicks to tell you it's full... althought i have heard it's not good to do all the time, i also saw how the fuel tank and system for a car is made and set up, and they said they purposly mark tanks to be "full" at around 80% to compensate for air and topping off... just a thought.
