so yeah, earlier today, actually, yesterday night... I was getting ready to leave my friends house. I turned the key to the on position and turned the light switch to the first position. I was telling one of the other guys there to meet me at my house, and I turn the key to crank the motor.

I heard it turn over once, and then everything went black. I tried cranking again, but nothing happened. I turned everything off, and looked under the hood, thinking that maybe the negative battery cable came off. but it was still on tight. I went to crank it again and the car came right on. it even reset my damn clock when it died.

anybody have any ideas?

Take off the battery cables and clean off the clamps (inside and out) with a wire brush. Clean off the battery terminals as well. Even a little bit of corrosion can cause problems!!

It takes a crap load of juice to turn the engine over... so if there is even a slight amount of power lost because of corrosion or a loose connection it won't start.

I cleaned my cables today. the positive cable had some black marks on the inside, looks like it was arcing. cleaned the hell out of them. the dust from the corrosive blue batter stuff hurt my nose
