OK so setttin the base here.

BONE STOCK RB25 swap into an S14Only mods are Freddy IntakeFMIC4" exhaustSTOCK 7psi boost on stock turboYamamoto Chipped ECU (came with motorset)

When I first got the car running it had a bad miss.It had Denso Iridiums in the motor. So I stupidly regapped them to .030

The miss went away. This lasted for me for about 3 months. Then the miss came back.So I went out and bought some brand new NGK BKR7ES plugs.Put them in at .043, standard for a stock RB25,(not totally sure of this)The miss was horrible.Solution: I had to shrink the gap to .025 to get the miss to go away.

So yesterday I went and bought my friends basically brand new coils off his RB26.Put them in.Gapped plugs to .043, still using the NGK'sMiss is pretty present right around 4500rpm.So we shrink the gap to .035.Miss is stil there but not till around 5500 rpm.

So i go get a very low miles and tested Z32 ignitor.Take the car for a spin at operating temp, miss is still there, just as bad.

So what the f*** is wrong with my car?

Other symptoms:

Miss isnt as bad if once the car gets to operating temp, I turn the car off, then turn it right back on. Miss isnt as bad but gets progressively worse.Car likes to idle at 2000 rpm on cold start up, and doesnt idle normally till I turn the car off then back on. This sometimes doesnt work though.

Any ideas guys?

Tomorrow Im going to get replacement copper NGK's instead.BKR6EYA's.

I was told your not suppose to gap NGK's?

Thanks again.

How would compression affect this?

not entirely sure to be honest but its good to get it out of the way but i know timing can cause this also check your injectors, this combo made two of my cyls to miss

just found thishttp://www.aa1car.com/library/misfire.htm might help you alot

from the link:

What causes a cylinder to misfire? Basically, it's one of three things: loss of spark; the air/fuel mixture is too far out of balance to ignite; or loss of compression.

see i new loss of compression had somethen to do with it

Suck, squeeze, bang, blow.

Without enough squeeze, there is no bang or blow.

OK so problem solved.

Got new NGK Iridium plugs, I think they were something like BCPR5EX-11, something like that, I might be wrong. But they ARE iridiums.

They came gapped stock at 1.1mm.

I put those in, and in the process I noticed my coil pack harness ground looked kinda shabby, so I replaced that, and cleaned where it mounted, and also added another ground that goes straight to the firewall.

I also put in the Z32 ignitor.

Went for a drive, let the plugs warm up.

Its a whole new car. It runs smoother and better then it ever has before. From the "butt dyno" it feels like ive gained a good amount of power. And gas mileage has gone through the roof.

Really relieved....
