This happened in the town I work in. Kid gets all jerked off because a teacher did the right thing and took away his phone for using it during class and brought it to the front office. He doesn't just throw that chair, he hurls it. Could've hit the teacher, another student, or really done damage.

She keeps her cool pretty well, but I would've had a much harder time restraining myself if I were in her place. I don't know where this ***hole gets off thinking its alright to get mad when the rules he broke had consequences. Worse, the other kids in class can be seen laughing and taunting the teacher, too. I can only imagine that the lady is ready to say 'f*** it' and go stock shelves somewhere instead of dealing with poor behavior like this.

I wouldn't be surprised if that student gets expelled. Looked like a pretty s*** learning environment though. New Bedford has always sucked.

In no way to i condone the actions of the kid, but the teacher did not pick her battle well... Maybe i missed something in the video, but she took it away because it was plugged into an outlet to charge, not because he was even using the phone. If he is not disturbing the class or teacher then he should have been left alone. Also, this looks to be like a rougher neighbourhood as the rest of the class surrounds the teacher and start the group humiliation taunts. The whole situation is avoidable, but she wanted to try and show who was boss without standing up for herself in a stiff manor. Respect is different around the world and even city to city. You just have to know how to garner it. Dangerous Minds anyone?

this stuff didn't happen when parents used to be capable of actual parenting in general.

I don't know their school rules, but I do know that high schools around here, teacher don't even have the power to take the cell phone let alone kick a kid out of class. The rules here state that the teacher is 100% responsible for all children that attend the class for the duration of the class. This means you can only kick a kid out of class if you know they are under another supervision. When I was in school you were thrown out of class, missed the lesson, don't know the homework that was assigned, got docked marks and it made you fail and repeat.

I agree that kids don't need the phones during school either and they should be stuck in lockers on silent, but since these are not the rules and the kid wasn't really doing anything, so I think the teacher made the first mistake by even making it an issue.

that is so sad.

i have to disagree. her first mistake was allowing him and the rest of the class to begin to spout off at their mouths. then again, idk how much she could have done to nip it in the bud considering all those children went into that class with a general lack of respect towards anyone or anything.

Making that a blanket statement is wrong on so many levels. Church school has the same bad habits as public school. My brother got bullied at his private school even though all the parents / teachers were involved nothing ever happen until he stood up for himself. Not to mention some religious schools wont teach anything against their beliefs...

^ I wasnt ganna say it.

People have to keep in mind that kids/teenagers can be aggressive and rebellious. Its just a part of growing up. I was one of those people.., but my tantrums were never in the direction of others. The rest of the OP story is taken too far tho so atleast I can agree with that. Technology has taken over lives!

Now for something from the other end of the spectrum. A little video to lighten the mood. Yes, it's from a car company. Yes, it's in Japanese, so you have to read subtitles.

Expel that kid immediately. No tolerance for that.

In answer to the query, poor parenting. He wouldn't act like that if he didn't grow up in an environment where acting like that had no consequenses.

He needs to be in this lady's class.
