Can you tell me what's going on here? There are no threads. Just that elbow that slips in and out of the valve cover. That IS the PCV isn't it? Thanks. PEACE. Tek.

I tried to put the new PCV in and it's pointless. For one, there are no threads in the hole. Ok, I'll still try for the hell of it. But then the hole is WAY to big for the PCV even if there WERE threads. So what the hell is up?. Thanks. PEACE. Tek.

two words- RUBBER GROMMET!!!!!

your missing it. the pcv valve just pushes into the grommet. go to the parts store. there should be a rack of pcv valve grommets. find one that your pcv valve fits in and use it.

if the pcv valve is not threaded, it will be in a grommet. go get yourself one.

since your pcv is not sealed with the valve cover, your letting unmetered air in. that will cause lean running, bad idle, and numerous other problems.

You are all wrong. that is not the pcv valve the pcv valve is locate on out intake manifolds. Tek look on your intake manifold. It says eccs correct. Put your finger on the s. Now slide your finger towards the valve cover until you start to hit the curve on the intake manifold. The hose you finger should be touching is the pcv valve......Or another way. Yours is rusted too, just like mine was. I can see it in your pics. It is partially hidden behind the throttle cables. It has threads and is a 14 I believe. Unscrew, rescrew and done. Good luck

the pcv valve evacuates the gasses from the crankcase through the valve cover. the valve itself is almost always on the valve cover.

either way, that hose should not be in free air.

no, the pcv valve is always on the intake manifold. the pickup line for the crankcase gases is on the valve cover, but that line always feeds into the pcv valve, which is on the intake manifold, where the crank case gases enter the manifold, and then the combustion chamber where they are consumed to lower HC emissions.

definately not. not always on the intake manifold. go finda a 80's chevy s10/gmc s15 with a 4 cyl. look at the pcv valve, its in the valve cover. dont know why i used this as an example, its just the first one that popped into my head.

the valve itself is on the valve cover more often than not.

with the exception of V motors, which usually have the PCV on the manifold.

as far as inline motors go, the valve is usually on the valve cover.

open the hood of a 1st gen DSM and tell me where the pcv is.

hint- look on the backside of the valve cover.

My 92 toyota paseo has it on the valve cover. Which is where I generally believed it belonged. Your welcome Tek. It is an easy job to do once yo know where it is. Good luck, drive safe

where did the missing crankcase vent tube gromet that you showed us go?

im hoping it didnt get knocked into your valve cover and is just floating around in there,

that would be bad.

The DE has the PCV screwed into a little box that bolts to the block. Not the manifold and not the valve cover.
