I couldn't delay replacing the starter any longer and found some green liquid in my manifold when i started taking it apart. Is that normal? It's not coolant and my intake tubes are dry.

I wonder if it's a by product of using CRC GDI Intake Valve Cleaner, which i must say is impressive. I'll post pics later.

First guess would be coolant but you already took that out the equation. Interested on what you determine!

Me too. If it isn't coolant, then what? There isn't much on an automobile that's Venusian-colored.

What makes you think it isn't coolant? If you have any of the CRC stuff left, spray some into a small glass container and check the colour.

Because my coolant is blue. I don’t have any of the crc stuff left, but it was clear when I sprayed it.

That answers that. I checked online and it appears that the CRC is clear, but it might be green when it puddles. Are you able to get a sample and see if it smells petroleum based. I do have to say that the intake looks super clean.

I’ll check when I get a chance, but my intake valves look cherry after spraying this about 2 months ago.

So it's oil. I have no idea why it looks green. It's only green in the cavity, the residual oil in the runners part are still normal oil color. Idk why it's green, but whatever.

Ps. Don't use long needle pliers to pull out the shop towel used to soak up the oil. Oily handles are slippery.

I wonder if the oil mixed with the CRC gave it a green tint.

The only other green fluid I'm aware of is in the A/C - it uses a green dye to find leaks. But I don't have any idea how that would end up in your manifold?!?!

Oil mixed with blue coolant and also possibly with the CRC , you got that GREEN color change . Experiment mixing the above in several different ways may prove this ?? Like the science teacher's experiment - Color change upon mixing one or more chemicals.
Otherwise.........................Blame it on Venusians  ......... :lolling:

Mixture of that crc cleaner and oil from the pvc is the only thing i can think of. Not planning on spending another $17 for a can of crc just to try mixing it with oil.
