WTF happined!

i stop at a red light and wanna just launch the car and take off so i do ( i have a stock 89 240sx) i get to like 3 thousand rpm and them try to drop it in second but i think it grinded the gear and my cal just reved thre **** up cuz it wouldnt go into second it was in neutral, and i know my foot was all the way down on the clutch whn i shifted ,what happend?

you missed the gear...tried to pull through a bad synchro......3000 rpm's really isn't that high for first gear..that's pretty much casual driving..just shift straight through(i know it sounds simple..but everyone misses a gear sooner or later just cause they aren't paying attention)
