I might as well state the problem first, my car wont idle and seems to be GUZZLING gas. The car is a little rough on idle on cold start, when it gets warm it wont idle, its a smooth idle once warm, but then it just goes from 800 rpm when it wants and DIES, motor turns off, you can keep it going by giving it gas, then when it wants, dies again.

I also noticed that I burned $20 worth of gas in 25miles!! Going from one town to another and back, almost a quarter tank.... crazy

Heres what I did to aparently make this happen, I modified the cold air intake, I simply unhooked the battery, pulled the entire intake off, its HUGE I simply disconnected the piece after the MAF sensor and added my own 3" pipe about 10" long and put a high flow cone filter on the end of it. I also deleted the 1 small elbow and the box that went under the intake, I assumed they were for sound, as they went knowwhere.

So I did infact disconect the MAF sensor, and its installed back the right way, connection is good, and I disconnected the battery for almost a day. But why would it make my car run like this?? I cleared the codes, and none came back up on a 5 min drive, but the car still wont idle

The 2 codes I pulled wereP0100 : Mass or Volume Circuit Air Flow MalfunctionP1110: I COULD NOT FIND WHAT THIS CODE MEANT

Id love to get any help I can, appreciate it

P1110 is Intake Valve Timing Control, Right Side.

When you say no codes came back on, do you really mean "The SES light didn't come back on" or "I read out the codes and there weren't any." The SES light doesn't come on until the problem is detected on a couple of trips.

I think you ought to chase the P0100 first.

A. You messed with the MAFB. A bad MAF could cause the truck to run massively richC. A bad intake cam advance would have SOME effect on performance, but onlya bit.

Bad news: If it's running massively rich, the cats may be shot (effect, not cause)
