Post

Hi,

As I was driving 50km/h in 3rd, with the power windows down, no lights, fan off, wipers off, CD player on (quietish) my CD player cut out. Then cut back in, then cut out again when I stopped at a stop sign.

I drove further (worried) and the CD player cut out again, so I pulled over. When I put my foot on the clutch, the Idle wobbled between 1000 and 300 rpm a few times, then died.

I tried to start the car, but it only clicked. I turned the lights on... they're bright. I turned the lights & CD player off and let it sit. Then tried starting again and it click click click clicked. Tried the lights... still bright.

On a bit of a hill, so I bomb started it (backwards) and it ran like a charm, so long as I kept my foot on the gas enough for 1000rpm. Took my foot off and the idle fluctuates as before, then dies after 45sec or so, won't start again, lights still bright.

Recent history:

New Alternator, 2 months ago.Custom Intake and Exhaust, 1 month ago.New Distributor Cap, Rotor, and Plugs 9 days ago.New Fuel filter sitting on passenger seat as I have no Idea when the last time it was changed was.

check your connections at the battery and at the other ends of the cables. Check your connections on the altenator as well.
