I hope there is somekind of explanation to this. I don't know Daniel but I'm just hoping he wouldn't seek to this level. Guess I'll just wait for his response before making any type of judgement. If it is the same turbo...I remember him mentioning that there was shaft play, far from new if it's the same turbo.:(

Gotten rebuilt and selling it for cheap so quick seems unlikely--it takes like what 2-4 weeks for a good rebuil to be done by a company that does a good many. You have to wait a bit--usually comanies that are good at rebuilds are backed up.This seems a little shady--but I wouldnt pass judgement myself--i dont know the guy or the situation.

maybe he replaced the turbo used it for a bit and now he is selling it...

although the whole thing looks suspicions...because he says: "There is no front to back shaft play." that’s impossible bran new turbos have slight normal front to back shaft play, it's the side to side you have to worry about.

some side to side is allowed, especially with larger compressors.

I hope he has a great explanation. His description seems to directly avoid the problem with the turbo, but im all open to his explanations.

I ask the moderators to NOT delete or move this thread. Thank you.

Ok everyone, just saw this post. as some of you may have known, i had a few threads about how i thought i had a bad turbo and what not. i had a little oil in my ic piping and some suggested my oil return may have been too low. anyway, i took my oilpan off and redid that and ran it and there was still a little oil in the ic piping. also, i talked about how there was some shaft play in it. well, last week i took it to a local turbo shop that is a garrett dealer. i left it with them and explained my problem w/ the oil. anyway, while i was there, the felt the shaft, and told me it wasnt too bad, and that a little was normal anyway. so fri, they called and i went to pick it up and heres what they told me. they completely disassembled it and checked everything, inside, there is a ring, like a piston ring. they said it was the wrong size and replaced it. it has no or very very little shaft play now from what i can tell. they also said whoever put it together didnt do a good job (not sure what that meant). they said i did nothing wrong/ with the oil line thing. they told me some of the numbers that they would need to order rebuild parts were not on the turbo or ground off or something, and they would have no way of getting me parts for it if i ever needed it. they told me about all the bad experiences they have had w/ turbos off the internet and off ebay. they eventually talked me into getting a garrett turbo. so i decided to go ahead and sell the turbo on ebay and i already bought a garrett. originally i had bought this turbo off ebay brand new, from a company called Audspeed. they had it listed as an xs turbo. i dont know if they messed it up or who did, but i just dont want to take the risk of something going wrong w/ the turbo and being stuck w/ a worthless turbo that i cant get rebuilt. so i am getting rid of it while it still works and is in good condition. and the description on ebay is all true, i only put about 150miles on the turbo itself. the part about me wrecking my car, well i did have a small accident, no big deal, its getting fixed, i just used that as a better reason of getting rid of the turbo. so since you all are my friends, (i still hope) and this is the only forums i post in, i would not bid on this turbo, and i would not buy any turbo off ebay. i am allready loosing alot of money because i did. it may be an ok turbo or it may be a piece of crap, i just dont want to take a chance w/ it. so i hope you all understand why im doing this.

you're kinda stretching it with this aren't you?

so since you all are my friends, (i still hope) and this is the only forums i post in, i would not bid on this turbo, and i would not buy any turbo off ebay. i am allready loosing alot of money because i did. it may be an ok turbo or it may be a piece of crap, i just dont want to take a chance w/ it. so i hope you all understand why im doing this.

and with this i'm going to close this. i don't want this to get out of hand. daniel240, i'll accept your explanation as to your intentions, but i'm afraid you may have lost trust with some of your fellow members.

if anyone has any comments, please keep them off the forum. feel free to email me.
