Wow this is very odd.

Went to take my car out today and when I plugged my phone in the lighter it did not work. Anyway just started driving and noticed the clock is also out. Checked the wipers and AC panel and they do not work. I checked the fuses inside the car and they are fine. I just went to the car to try again and when I turned the key my wipers came on and they stopped in the middle of the window (I had the switch on and did not know it). Now my beautiful 22,000 mile Z has its wipers stuck in the middle of the window. I was going to check to see if any fuses under the hood control this CRAZY problem.

ANY SUGGESTIONS!

THANKS

Those are fusible links, and the checking procedure is in the FSM. Definitely get familiar with the FSM as it will help you in ways you never thought possible.

There are two fuse boxes under the hood, one by the battery and one on the fender.

Moving to Tech forum as well. Good luck!

Have you tested your battery yet with a multi-meter? It kinda sounds like a bad alternator/battery issue

Please check your interior fuse box, its on the driver side, near the dead pedal, one the left.

I checked all of the fuses in the fuse box and they are good. Also all fuses under the hood are good. Do not know how to check the large ones under the hood.

I will take it in to a local shop to see what they come up with. I googled my problems and found a few posts that are exactly like my issues and they have no replies. Someone did say it could be a relay behind the fuse box and another saying the ignition switch.

My console has no power - clock, power mirrors, sport/touring switch, lighter & rear window defrost
My AC pod also - All AC controls, rear wiper & front wiper

All this just went out on a car with only 22,000 miles!

Maybe only 22,000 miles, but lots of years. The time works against electronics as much or more than miles do.

Hopefully you find the problem soon.

It was The Ignition Relay behind the fuse box.
$29.99 part and $180 labor

I should have fixed it myself.

I took the 2 screws holding the fuse box out and tried to get the box out but was scared I would screw
something up. I should have just took all the connections off the box and try to do it. I never messed with wires/connections like that so I just put it all back together and took it to a shop.

After $228.36 I should have TRIED HARDER!

Thank God I've never brought my Z to a shop lol $180 labor to change a RELAY? I can't imagine what they would charge to change an injector or something

He Charged 2 Hours Labor.
I had everything apart and the fuse box almost out and then I put it all back together before I took it in. I wonder if I could have got a better deal if I left it apart and just let him finish up if I would have got a better deal. If the book said it calls for 2 hours they charge 2 hours even if it takes 1 hour. It is not that hard to take the kick panel off and get to the fuse box. I did not want to go any further because the fuse box would not come out that easy and I thought I would screw something up.

THANKS FOR THE HELP!
