What kind of compression ratio are you aiming for? The combustion chambers of the VG30E are actually a little bigger compared to the DE so the DE and TT pistons will have a lower compression ratio in the VG-E.
I know the VG30E pistons are flat top but from what I understand the DE pistons do have a little bit of a dome so you'll have a slight increase but likely not enough to go over 9.5:1. You should see a little bit of a gain there.
The most important part though... you definitely need to make sure the valves will clear. The DE pistons have 4 valve reliefs while the E has 2 so you'll have to make sure they don't hit the pistons, especially since you're going with a cam upgrade.
Just a heads up!
If you want to go a little further, you can actually pick up a VG33E and put Q45 pistons in. It'll require a bore putting it to roughly 3.4 liters but it'll make about a 250 hp VG.
