To make a long story short, I swapped out my busted stock manifold for a SSAutochrome one. It came with a turbo that I picked up here on the forum, so it hit the spot (haven't gotten around to getting the turbo rebuilt yet, so it is not installed). I want to go back to the stock manifold because it is smaller, can be shielded, and gaskets are easy to come by.
I am also having some issues with my idle controls and want to replace them if possible. My cold starts are horrible and I have to constantly tap/finesse the throttle to keep the car from dying before it is warmed up. I read about "cleaning" them, but I am a PC/Server/Network Administrator and not much of a mechanic. The guys that I thought were going to help me from my unit (motorpool technicians) left me hanging and I have found myself at the auto hobby shop doing the best that I can. I have a variety of parts that I would like to install, but I need to get my car running in it's stock form properly before I can upgrade and or rebuild.
The catostrophoc failure I had w/ the transmission cost me an arm and a leg, but I was forced to get it fixed ASAP instead of hooking up with Ragenasian like I planned. So now I just want to stay away from the locals and do my fixinf at the hobby shop or with help from people in the know.
Thanks for your time.
