To make a long story short, I swapped out my busted stock manifold for a SSAutochrome one. It came with a turbo that I picked up here on the forum, so it hit the spot (haven't gotten around to getting the turbo rebuilt yet, so it is not installed). I want to go back to the stock manifold because it is smaller, can be shielded, and gaskets are easy to come by.

I am also having some issues with my idle controls and want to replace them if possible. My cold starts are horrible and I have to constantly tap/finesse the throttle to keep the car from dying before it is warmed up. I read about "cleaning" them, but I am a PC/Server/Network Administrator and not much of a mechanic. The guys that I thought were going to help me from my unit (motorpool technicians) left me hanging and I have found myself at the auto hobby shop doing the best that I can. I have a variety of parts that I would like to install, but I need to get my car running in it's stock form properly before I can upgrade and or rebuild.

The catostrophoc failure I had w/ the transmission cost me an arm and a leg, but I was forced to get it fixed ASAP instead of hooking up with Ragenasian like I planned. So now I just want to stay away from the locals and do my fixinf at the hobby shop or with help from people in the know.

Thanks for your time.

Rob

Being at the AutoHobby shop is a good start. Get some spanners and print out the S13 CA18 Factory Workshop manual.

These cars are getting old, and previous owners have thrashed them. If I see a cheaper gearbox, I buy it as a spare. If I see an AFM or idle control unit for cheap, I buy one for a spare, same for TPS, CAS etc... With old cars, you've gotta cover your own ***.

Hey roplusbee send me an email with the parts you need at [email protected] and I will see what I can find in my garage. My 200sx is going up for sale tomorrow as I don't drive it at all anymore. I have a 120 km drive everyday now and just dont' have time to really get this thing out anymore so if I have some spare parts I can help you with let me know.

If I dont' have it I can ask the local German forum for you and see what they have.

If you are talking about using the forum based messaging system, I do not have permission to use it. Is the email in your profile correct?

I replied this morning. Lemme know what you think, shipping is a bit pricey because of your location but the price on the parts is quite fair, I believe. If not lemme know, im always open to discussion .
