You can recover your factory piece. I believe 94_240sx did that on his and could shed some light on the process for you. But there's nothing special about the steering wheel in a vert, so any steering wheel from any S13 will work. I decided to go with a simple Momo competition wheel and get away from the factory wheel.

Your best bet is this guy.

New one is too expensive. It's impossible to find used leather steering wheels.
You can buy a plastic one. If you buy any S13 steering wheel without cruise control, you can still make it work by moving the parts from your old one to that one. Cruise control won't work with JDM Silvia steering wheel. Z32 300ZX uses same steering wheel, so you can search for Z32 used steering wheels as well.

Thanks all,

Will start searching for a Z32 or 300ZX

If you wanted to retain cruise, you'd need to get a wheel from a model with cruise. It has the proper slip ring. Any base model without will only have one slip ring for the horn only.

I have also been having trouble with my horn. Sometimes it works a little and some times it doesn't. Today I pulled it all apart. The contacts look OK so I tweaked it a little here and there and put it back together and still the same response.
Not sure how to fix this. Any help would be appreciated.........

I had an issue with my horn that was being caused by the slip rings. If the wheel was in the 12 o'clock position, I got nothing, but if it moved a few degrees from there, I had a horn. If you pull the wheel off and you find a dark spot on the slip ring, that's gonna be your problem.

Not that I know of. It's typically just a metal ring on the steering wheel, and there's a spring loaded contact on the column. You can try to clean the current ring and get any carbon buildup off it.

EDIT:

-This is an aftermarket hub, but it gives you an idea of what the rings look like on the back of the steering wheel.

This is not what I'm looking at. My problem is in the horn pad. The one that pops off the steering wheel. It has the cruse control switch. This is what is not making contact right when I push it to sound the horn.

I have a stock S13 OEM 93 convertible steering wheel with cruise control buttons. Leather wrap ($50) installed already - ready to install. Stitching on wrap could be tightened a bit but overall this is in excellent condition.

The only issue is the center logo is missing.

$50 plus shipping from NY, paypal only, fee included. All boxed up and can ship immediately.

As far as I know, parts in the back of the steering can be removed, so you can move them over to the new one.
