Hey guys...

I know these are just stupid "little" parts but having them would make me sooooo happy!!!

I am looking for the cover that goes over the rear window switch for a 1994 vert. Nissan doesn't make them anymore...and finding them here in a wrecker's is next to impossible.

If anyone has this piece kicking around would be very interested.

Also, on the dash where the radio fits in, there are two "shelves" I think one is there in case someone wanted to put an amplifier in there. On my car it "looks" like there was once a "door" or cover that was there but has been ripped off. Not sure if I am right about this...it's a total guess! But would love to get a hold of that "cover or door" if it is out there.

Also... would love a "working" cigarette lighter so I can plug my cell phone charger in.

Like I said they are all "little" parts...but it is the "little" things in life that make me happy!!!! Said the 4ft 11.5inch tall girl

I'll look through my stuff, I might have the window switch part (you mean the little rockers that go in the console, right?)

The center cubby didn't have a cover, it was an open slot... Pics would help, so we can see what you're missing.

Cig lighter should be easy, but I just sold my extra one. We'll find you one.

p.s. I LOVE your avatar, Cindy!

Well thank you!!! It's just me with a new hair cut...

Thanks for keeping you eyes open for a cig lighter...I bought one already that didn't fit...then went to a wrecker and bought one for $20.00 from a 240SX and after I put that one in...IT didn't work either!!!!! DAMMIT!!!!

I also bought visors (first set where grey and I REALLY wanted black) so I bought a second set from a 300Z and I have them in there now...but they are actually a lot bigger than what would really fit...but I'm okay with that!!! They are black and look MUCH better!

I will try to take a picture of what I mean for the cover thing...maybe I am wrong about it...and the rear window switch cover...I am POSITIVE there is a cover for them that is missing. I will try to take a pic tomorrow if I can!

Oh and another thing...SOMEWHERE on this site, someone made reference to a cup holder that could fit in the armrest (in fact there were pics of it) is that a custom thing? I asked at Nissan and they couldn't find anything like that listed. If it's only available in the states I wouldn't mind finding one of those too...since my little guy has already spilt two pops and it is a helluva job to clean that sticky stuff off!!!

Little things like this matter to me...fixing the antenna (new one all shiney) and the exhaust pipes next week...excited!!!!

cig. lighter problem could be something as simple as a blown fuse so I would check there first and make sure its ok.

as for the cupholder it can be found here:http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=233400

cparker,I'm having hard time visualizing stuff that you are looking for. Let me ask you some Qs.
cparker wrote:I am looking for the cover that goes over the rear window switch for a 1994 vert. Nissan doesn't make them anymore...and finding them here in a wrecker's is next to impossible.

Are you talking about #1 or #2 in below picture? #1 is quarter window switch assembly which is no longer available IIRC. You can't buy only #2 which is a center console cover. You have to buy a whole center console.
cparker wrote:Also, on the dash where the radio fits in, there are two "shelves" I think one is there in case someone wanted to put an amplifier in there. Is this what you are looking for? It's called Instrument Pocket. I can sell you mine.

If above pocket is what you are looking for, you have to make sure that these brackets are still there. They hold radio and pocket together. Without them, it'll be hard for you to install the pocket right.http://www.courtesyparts.com/M...S13RH
cparker wrote:Also... would love a "working" cigarette lighter so I can plug my cell phone charger in.
Like S-13 said, it could be a fuse issue. Fuse box is on the driver's side near kick panel. It's right below where hood opener is at. You will see the cover there. Fuse is 15A, so pull it out and make sure it's good. If it's good, there's a chance wire or plug got messed up inside of center console. 4 screws are holding the center console, so it's easy to remove and check.

Same here. I hate to have missing or broken parts on my car. Let us know.

OMG you guys are SO fabulous!!!! I can't believe you set all this up for me...ESPECIALLY the numbered pic and all...AND I didn't know where the fuse box was...OR what fuse it was...so I was going to wait until I could go to the dealership...but was so feeling like SUCH a GIRL!!! So thank you so much!!!!

Let me respond...
94_240sx wrote:Are you talking about #1 or #2 in below picture?
I was talking about #1 yes!! And YES I cannot get them at Nissan so if ANYONE has a set to sell...I would be VERY interested!

thank you but no, I have that part...I just thought there was a cover on it at one point...but hitman (been WAITING to say that ;-) let me know that there was no cover and I was just imagining things...laughing!!!!

I just want to thank you again (especially the fuse box thing) now I won't feel so silly! You all ROCK

Hi Cin - Are you missing the WHOLE switch (#1) or just the little rockers?

In other words, is there a little square "nub" showing? You can push it and still activate the windows, right?

I think I have a couple of the rockers, lemme look.

You are welcome. Glad that I could help you. You don't have a quarter window switch? Then how do you raise the quarter windows after drop the top and close. Don't tell me your quarter windows are down all the time.

Think she is just missing the rocker plastic pieces. Mine was missing those as well when I got it. I ordered a whole new switch assembly from nissan, it wasn't that expensive (like $20).

They probably break, I know the passenger window switch rocker on the driver's door is very common for breaking on all S13s.

If you come up with a pic like her avatar it'll work.

Wow again...thanks guys... (blushing) wish Canadian men were HALF as intelligent as you American guys!!!!

And HEY I thought I was doing not to bad fixing up my car...but it certainly can't hurt to have a network of rugged American guys who know their cars to learn from

So yes...

you are correct, I can still use the little "nubs" but they look awful!!! If you DO have some switches please please please I tried Nissan but they don't make them anymore so I couldn't get new ones

And a new question, my door panels are cracking on both sides down on the bottom where the seat belts extend. Then they catch and I'm afraid one day they will snap right off!!! I'd like to try to glue them together, however crazy glue didn't work. Any suggestions for a product that would keep the edges (of the cracks) together???

Once again guys...THANK YOU!!!!!!!

They do still make them, but I don't think you can get just the 'covers', you'd have to buy the whole assembly. I got mine in Nov or Dec of last year. May have to go through a US dealer to get them though too. If the CA dealer can't do it try mynismo.com or courtesyparts.com

It's an evil plan.... See, she'll have her car done before any of us.

Cindy, you MAY be out of luck on the dor panels. ASC used the crappiest plastic ever to make those, and they're near impossible to repair.

If I were going to fix an OEM 'vert door panel, I'd use a piece of plastic (for a backing) and a couple rivets. Sure, you'll see the rivets, but it'll look better than the big cracked part.

Best of all, it's well within your capabilities to fix. Go buy a rivet gun) ($10) and a piece of stiff plastic, drill some holes, and pop away at it!

I know Canadian men don't use tools (sissies), or I'd suggest borrowing from a local.

I'd be up for a flight to the Great White North to help out a fellow NICO member... It's just the kindness in my heart....

Recently, I used this 2-ton epoxy kit to fix interior plastic piece and had a great result. It's super strong after cured. Like AZHitman said, make a backing plate and apply this between cracked panel and backing plate and it should fix the crack and will last forever. I paid like $4 at Walmart. I've been thinking about fixing headliner piece with this too.

PERFECT!!!! Thanks I will definatly give that a try! And I wouldn't have thought of a backing so I will give that a shot too...no rivets at first though okay?

And thanks Hitman (Azhitman)...looks like that offer to come out and give a girl a hand is not necessary... YET anyway! Although if you DO have any of those covers for the rear window switch I would love to get them through you since I was told here at Nissan that they couldn't get them any more. If you don't I will definately try a US Nissan dealership! If you want to email me with your cost (including shipping) my email is [email protected]

Also, no worries about me fixing my car before yours....I have SO many things I still want to do that will take time and money!!!!

Although today I get the chrome covers for my exhaust pipes and the new antenna installed.

But I still want to replace the carpet (make it black) and reupholster the cloth seats and insets on the panels and glove compartment to black vinyl/leather! And I want after market wheels and mags. And thanks to this site I know I can probably go as high as 18 but most people prefer 17! Nice...thanks again for all the

If only half the noobs that buy coupes/hatches would learn so quickly...

I think buying a Vert instills more intelligence and paitents sometimes. Either that or like me you've had a coupe/hatch so long that you learn/progress then can afford/want a Vert.

Just got back from the Nissan dealership... I HATE the dealership here in Surrey!

The guy was rude and talked down to me and in the end wouldn't install the antenna because it wasn't a NISSAN antenna... this isn't the first time he wouldn't help me either. I needed to get the struts in the trunk fixed and I wanted them to recondition the existing ones...he wouldn't do it and told me he had NEVER HEARD of such a thing. Wanted me to buy NEW nissan ones. I went to Langley where they gladly reconditioned them (now this was BEFORE I read here on the site that I could have gotten them for much cheaper aftermarket...oh well).

So today I gave up my lunch hour because I had booked an appt (why didn't they say something THEN...I told them I was bringing the antenna!!!) I was tried to be nice, but after several times that he talked to me like I was 2 (so surprised he didn't call me honey...or sweetie!) when he said to me "that's a really nice car you have there, you should take good care of it" I actually HAD to put him in his place...and I don't do that often...nor do I often need to!!! I told him it was pretty OBVIOUS that I DO take care of it (thus wanting to replace the faulty - and tarnish antenna!!!)

I also told him if he can't install the antenna for me I will take it elsewhere and will continue to do so in the future...sigh!!!! However for my Canadian friends from BC (if you are reading this) the Langley Nissan dealership is much better!!!

Long story short...they did the chrome exhaust pipes...antenna is NOT done... I have already tried to do it myself...but I guess I will take another shot...and if not...I will go to my old mechanic who used to fix my VW...I never ever was told that they WOULDN'T do anything aftermarket because it wasn't a VW part!!! ARRRGHH

Venting done!!! Sorry!!! Will take pics once I get the antenna and the boot for the car!!!

Will also try that epoxy (if I can find it out here) and take pics too!!! I have a sheet of plexiglass at home...could I use that as the plastic backing plate if I cut it to size?

Hitman...My HERO!!! (Oh come on...you KNEW I was going to say that!!!! And you wanted me to...admit it!!! YAY!!!!!) I will definately email you my address!!!! And OMG the "out of prison boyfriend" thing...made me HOWL!!!! Thanks for the offer... You know what though... I think I took care of it...

ckmelly...thanks for your vote of confidence! (if that is sucking up...well...I appreciated it anyway ) thanks for the directions too...although I didn't buy a Nissan antenna (that's the whole problem) I bought an antenna off ebay (supposed to be for a Nissan 240Sx but not Nissan) and it came with it's own motor. I will print them off and attempt it!!! ;-)

Tried apoxy (not the same one...not out here...and they won't ship to Canada) so I tried another...it's drying right now...doors open...scared to close them and have the glue break! NOW is when I wish I had a garage!!! IMAGINE what I could accomplish THEN

Oh AND...

Cool if it is a "guy" thing and you don't want to say too! Just say "GUY thing!"
