or you could just buy an intercooler by it self and buy some bends and you're set....

I could buy just an intercooler... how many pieces would i need for bends and straight pipe? I guess it would all depend on how I was going to have it set up right? Could you give me just a general idea... I've looked at all the pipes at auto stores around here and they're all crushbent... definately not what i'm looking for.

ebay usually have some nice Spearco intercoolers for decent price. _CLICK ME_

just think through and draw out your bends then you'll find out what you'll need. you could do what one of the member on here did, get some pvc elbows and connect the pieces to mock-up and buy the bends accordingly.

on my super-60 turbo, i use 2" from the turbo to one side of the intercooler and the other side i use 2.5" tubing to the throttle-body.

I appreciate all the advice... now that i'm starting to think about it and look around on ebay, it would be A LOT more cost efficient if i bought the I/C seperately and then the piping. I have read somewhere about a member that made a model of the piping in pvc then had piping made and welded together. What's a better idea, to fit the piping together with silicone hose fittings and c-clamp it.... or to have all the piping welded together?

Just add things up first to see what route would be better for you. Take into account ---the cost of intercooler core, pipings , the time to mock up the piping, a way to cut the pipings, welding the pipings, and silicone couplers to put the piping together. They all add up quick---almost as much or more as a kit from Hybrid. This was the list of things I used for my intercooler set up *GTR Intercooler - $240 * U bends - $120 * Silicone couplers/reducers - $70 * Welding $115 * Time to mock/cut piping - 5 hours

ok so now i'm at a crossroad.... I could go with the hybrid kit... which is $1149(au) $8xx (us)

or look for the core - $200-$400 depending on who i want to be a brand whore to....And the piping which I have no idea what will cost cause on ebay they range around $100, but i'm sure i could find 2" piping in various bends somewhere around here cheaper than that. Then the silicone couplers and clamps.... I can get these at autostores (fairly positive)... not sure about a 2.75"-2.5" reducer coupler tho. Finally have the pieces welded together...

The first solution would be the easiest but I'd still have to pay for that damn thing to be shipped from the outback to the states... the second solution is more time consuming and in the end i'm not sure whether or not it would be worth it to save the extra bux?.... Has anyone heard anything about Undergroundmotorsports and the intercooler they are offering on their site? I don't know if it's a complete kit and i'm still waiting to find out how much it'll cost.

You should shoot an email to underground or call them. If you can get the kit, I think you will be happy with it. I think I still have picks posted of mine in the members rides section.

holey shiesta!!!! I emailed flyn.com.au (they seem to be one of the only carriers of they hybrid kit) and besides the 8xx sum dollars for the kit itself... they quoted me airfreight would cost $301(us)!!!!!!!! Anyone wanna go rob a bank with me??? jk...maybeI'm now leaning towards the idea of just picking up a core and custom fabbing the piping.... so what kinda suggestions do you masters have for cores? 24x12x3 is a nice start

why dont you hit up 240sxsupply.com Just call them up, they answered the phone last time I called. But if you are going for custom piping---2 1/2 is ideal (factory one is already 2.5) Atp turbo has some cheap silicone hoses and reducers. Turbohose has some cheap t-bolt clamps. What kind of horsepower are you looking for? Size sometime doesnt matter but just how it is construct.

I wasn't looking to go any bigger than 2.5" at all... I haven't upgraded my turbo and probably won't for a little while.... (gotta keep saving money and working and working and saving money) Don't really have an ideal horsepower range ... it's kinda addictive and i don't know where i'd stop... so until then i'll just keep adding performance parts. I can get silicone hose and clamps around town easy enough...The only thing i'm actually concerned about is the piping... what material and where to find it is basically the only thing that's holding me back from just purchasing a core by itself....Does anyone know *approximately* the number of 90* and 45* bends i will need... as well as *approximately* how much straight piping i will need to run a set up similiar the hybrid piping ...Still running with a stock I/M
