if it is toast I might be interested in getting it for cheap so I can try and see if the EPROM is still sane if it is then I can add it to my soon to be collection of ROMs and etc, and also if I ever do get around to protoing any rom emulator / real time tunable daughtercard crap I'd be able to use it for laying things out (not for testing if its toast, but I wouldn't have to pull my working ECU out to test etc).

I've had a few ideas on rom emulators, but suffice it to say the really fancy cool ideas didn't work and I'll probably end up with something ghetto-simple lol. of course in the end the hardest part will be the software haha (if I ever kick my ideas around enough to actually work on some proto layouts and/or basic design stuffs I'll start a thread on that ... )

Usually if you fried your ecu by playing around on the maf, open it up and check the solder side which is the bottom side, some time a track will blow, so you have to put a jumper wire over where the track blew and your back in business. It happened ot couple of my buddies and the both had a blown track, added a jumper wire, and it worked fine.

Good luck,
