Well im almost done all the wiring in my S13 and I had a few connectors left that I wasn't sure about. Turns out I don't have the stock CA dropping resistor on my harness. Anyone have one they'd like to sell me??? My money will be in my PayPal account on Monday.

P.S The FSM speaks of a power transistor unit, is this just a fancy name for the ignitor?

From what ive read so far, yes you can. In a perfect world id like to get the OEM one for a CA18DET just because it would be easier, plug & play style.

You can use one from a dsm. That's what car I got mine from. it works just fine. Just go to a junkyard a grab one there.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/90-94-Eclip...wItemIs this a proper one for my CA?

If it is ok then i'll pick this up unless I can get the OEM CA18DET resistor.

Sweet, its pretty cheap too! From what I've read on here, the wiring is quite straightforward.

Is the dropping resistor only for the Auto Transmission models or is it needed regardless?

It doesn't matter as the resistor is injector/injector driver related.

I was thinking about that as I typed but still decided to ask just to be sure. Ordered the 1st gen DSM one off ebay 2 days ago and was hoping it wasnt for nothing. Thanks for the fast response!
