Im looking for a working in good condition knock/detonation sensor for my CA. If anyone has a spare one that they can sell me id appreciate it, or an equivalent. I broke the connector side of it lifting my block out of my car using a hoist.

Have you tried Nissan, Advance Auto, O'Reilly's, Autozone, etc?

You know what, i have. I checked Nissan a few months back and they wanted somewhere in the $150.00+ range, IIRC. The other parts stores didnt/coudnt get them. They werent even in their systems. I dont know why. Maybe its was just THESE particular stores i tried. Ill try again today.

I tried plugging the connector on the harness side and it fits into the pin perfectly! But it wont work and it wont stay together because it used the green plastic and o-ring to hold it in place and keep it from coming loose or apart.

i tossed the female plug to mine and had to break off the green part, and soldered one end of a 4inch shielded wire to the male portion (held really strong, couldnt pull apart). then i crimped a female spade connector to the other end of the wire, and ran another sheilded wire straight from ecu connector to the knock sensor and crimped a male connector on the end by the sensor and wa la! its worked good ever since.

I was just going to ask if you had tried to soldier some wire to it to see if it would stick.

That would work but ill have to get a solder iron/torch. The connection would be exposed but i have some Liquid Electrical Tape that i can put on it. I could do this but i would still want to be able to disconnect it. I could remedy that by puting a connection(female-male).

I havent tried, but im going to check the area where i broke the sensor. Im so slow. I could probably just glue that green plastic piece that broke off. It was at my school so most than likely the floors got swepted. I check tomorow.

use a female butt connector to make a clip for it. heat shrink the connector and it should keep it pretty weather tight, if your that worried about it make a rubber cover out of somthing to cover it up.
