I have heard that there are a couple of Dynamat wannabies out there, but I have not seen much. I, like a few other people, am looking for a cheaper alternative to Dynamat that can not only suppress the noise, but keep heat out as well.... all while not increasing the weight too much.

Brown Bread. Check it out on Ebay!!! It is cheap and really good. Easy to work with also. The price is way cheaper than Dynamat.

It sounds like you're looking for one of my alternatives .

Go to a hardware/Home Improvement store near you. For the doors, you can use standard fiberglass insulation. On the floor, you can use fiberglass tape (same as dynamat)

Or, you could make it pimp. Put some shag carpet in a color of your choice on the floor. This will absorb alot of sound a feel really good on your feet. Also, girls like it when you have it on the floor of your van .

If you can spray the area, go to an auto parts store and get a spray can of rubberized undercoat. You should be able to find one for around $12. Same exact thing that Dynamat and Stinger use in their spray product, but without the brand name price.

I've installed about 5 systems in my cars over the years and i find that it does just as good of a job (if not better) than using self-sticking mat material.

It also works great for adding density to your sub enclosures if you spray 2 coats on the interior of the box.
