I just threw a rod on my 91 240sx and was wondering what you guys think a fair price on used motor is. Also how much should i expect a "ghetto" shop to charge for labor, or is it easy enough to swap out the motor myself?

I've got one solution for you. I just procurred my doctor's convertable. It's a 1993 240sx SE automatic. She JUST had the engine totally gone through for just under $3000, new radiator, brakes, and all sorts of stuff. The top (minus the rear plastic window part) is almost brand new. It runs and drives great!

Right after the engine rebuild was done, someone ran a stop sign and just clipped the front end. The frame is fine, all lights work; but the shop costs for parts and labor to make it perfect was more than the $4k Kelly Blue Book, so they just totaled it last week. It's yours for $1500. Seats are great, it sure dosn't look all that bad. It's red with black cloth top; has 131k miles.it drives along and runs smoothly, A/C cranks. Nitro
