Yeah I'm not sure why mine is different, I went to the scrap yard today and went through 8 different pathfinders/ QX4's and every single one had the square 4 pin design.
But I also live in canada, and the truck came from America, maybe the American models use a different switch than the Canuck models. Regardless I dont want to freeze my balls off when it dips down to -55F (yes that is normal up here) so I would really like to get this switch ASAP lol

Maybe you have the early 2001 version. I have an 01 QX4 too, with the same style switch you're seeing everywhere. There's also a possibility they're aftermarket/universal.

May I ask why you need a new switch? As long as the plastic isn't broken or something, you may be able to disassemble it and fix it. I've taken mine apart before to switch the lights out; it's tedious but not difficult.

Another thing worth trying is looking on eBay for other Nissans and Infinitis to see if any of them had a similar switch. Parts like that were commonly shared amongst different models.

My last thought is if you're feeling particularly adventurous/desperate, you could buy the common type of switch and wire it up. You can probably find one with a pigtail (connector still attached, wires cut). I'm willing to bet that the cutout in the console is the same. If you post a photo of the cutout and some measurements, I can compare with mine.

Yeah I have thought about just going to the scrap yard and clipping off the pigtail for the 4 pic connector, but I want to leave that as a last resort I want both switches to be th same just for the cleanliness factor. Wiring is nothing to me my harness in my Silvia caught fire at my last track day and I had to re solder in a few wires and pigtails.
I am slot considering just buying a whole new console with both of the 4 pic switches and swapping it all over to save tales the headache lol

So I decided to just wire in a new pigtail for a square 4 pin connector, I know which wires are power, ground, high heat, and low get on my harness.
The square 4 pin pigtail has an orange/black wire(power?) a black (ground) a white wire and a blue wire.
Can anyone confirm that the orange wire is indeed the power wire for me?
Thanks again folks

Check the FSM, EL-183. Orange/black goes to the seat cushion heater. Black looks like it's ground. Power is W/B, whatever that is. The FSM uses funky codes for the colors so I can't tell exactly which is which.

So I used my multimeter, white-power black-ground blue-high heat and orange-low heat. Once I had that all figured out I decided to take the switch apart like someone suggested, turns out the black guide at the top slipped over causing that bar to be stuck not letting it move up and down to make contact with the power supply. I ended up just fixing the switch and all is good in the world now :D

And here is a completely un related picture of my Silvia because I love to show off my drift car :p

Thanks for all the help Guys, you were suprisingly helpful considering this was my first post on this forum, I see so often on other forums where d!ck chew people out for making first posts like this.

Cheers gents!!
