alright i know, nissan, nissan, nissan... But today i test drove a WRX over in orlando and all i can say is.. damn, its a really nice car.. the sale guy didnt really care about the car (me only being 16 and he let me drive it.. that was a suprize) so i reved it out and such.. it really pulls hard in first and second gear.. if i had 25k i would really consider buying one they are really fast for a stock car.. tho what was sad is that all the guys on the floor(selling the cars) didnt know anything about them.. i ask what they boost at and they guy is like "what like air pressur or somthing?" then they asked around.. and came up with 10 PSI... i thought it boosts at 8? oh well sorry for the long post.

i wish i could drive a WRX. it would be so much fun. the fastest car i've driven is a 2001 Z28 6spd with a hurst shifter. that thing would FLY.

the wrx's are very nice, esp. for the price.

like Ben said, the fastest car I ever drove "drove fast" is either a 2k2 BMW M3 "Carbon Metallic Black, SMG transmission, fact. 0-60 in 4.7"

or a 2k BMW M5 "Carbon Black, 6spd, 5.0L, 400 horse"

All I can say is " that is what dreams are made of, lol".

Well the story behind the M3 is... "first off, know that I am even a BIGGER BMW fan than Nissan, sorry guys"

I work "until end of this week at least" at a carwash. I have been there for four years. I was working one day, and I got the chance to drive my first 2k1 and up M3. When I got in it, I didn't know how to drive it:( , so the owner came out and showed me how to start it "had the smg transmission". After I cleaned it I waived him over to sell it back to him. I started to talk to him, letting him know he was driving my dream car and how I was such a huge BMW buff. I told him how I would like to intern for them too. He goes well, I know an executive in NJ that I could call to help you on your internship. And then he goes, "here's my phone number, call me and we will take out the M3 and I will let you open her up.

As you can guess my mouth hit the ground and I started kissing his shoes, jk, lol.

AS for the M5, I detail it alot.

Masterman,You were pretty luck to get a test drive at the age of 16 and with the prospect of not buying one. Most people around here get turned away from being able to test drive one if they are not really interested. When I bought mine, there was a guy in the dealership (on the VW side) that had an Impreza and knew almost everything about the car. He was a wealth of knowledge on what to pick out as options. I the standard boost for the WRX is 13.5 PSI or 700 mmHg. It is a fun car to drive and it really opens up after the break in period. The clutch takes some time to get use to and you need to practice launching with it.

95silviase,If you want to drive one, I could bring mine to the LOUKY, NICO meet in March. Depends on what car I want to bring. If I bring the WRX, I may let you take it for a test drive.

When the new Impala SS came out, I went to Courtesy Chevrolet to test drive one. Got a manager's demo with 8K on the odo. Sales guy was a weasley little greasy basturd that reeked of Kool's and had a bad combover.

Started off by telling the salesman that I'm a driving instructor for the Phoenix PD....(so sue me) Thrashed the holy bejeezus outta that SS for a half-hour while this turd sales guy whimpers in the passenger seat about "break-in periods" and "foreshortened treadwear life".

Completed the test drive by telling him I'm not impressed with the SS and that I'm actually interested in trading in my wife's Suburban ona new Tahoe... LOL.

haha thats funny.. should of been out longer.. taken up more of his time :)

so true.. it is really touchy it grabed and made the car jump.. tho i didnt feel bad because everyone that drove the car did the same thing.. but oddly first gear was smooth.. it was just first to second that grabed...

This may sound like a stupid question, but what is a Jap Lan Evo? The Evo 8 currently has been released by Mistubishi, but does not make the horsepower numbers that the STi makes.271hp vs 300 hp. STi makes more horsepower even without a Front Mount Intercooler! Kewl.

Freak,What will be interesting to see is a heads up comparision between the STi and the Evo8. I will be watching that closely.

well you know whoever releases first will end up being the underdog. subaru was just waiting for mitsu to give the specs on the evo so they could top it. it'll probably be back and forth over the next few years. they'll both probably just keep turning up the boost until insurance rates go through the roof and gas mileage is next to none.

I test drove the WRX as well. I went to the dealership and the first thing the guy said was "Want to take it out?". Of course I did...hehe. I didnt think it was that fast. It handled like it was on rails and AWD is a beautiful thing, but nothing pulls like a SR20DET. Thats why I cant see myself buying a new car, I will still smoke them with a 11 year old one!!! HAHA

Nissan Power all the way. Find and Test drive a 240sx powered with SR20DET and get back to me how wonderful the WRX is. Nothing against subaru, just needs some more power like the Lancer will have. Even the STI version wont be as good as the Lancer, what the hell.....

we need the evo VII not the VIII. evo VIII's 271 is considered an accurate hp, while the VII's 276 was reportedly conservative by something like 25 hp. subaru came out first with their car so i think they went lower hp to see if the public would buy it, since they do it should go up, even base wrx not just sti

SR-You have a point, but may I remind you that the WRX still has a ton of potential. I plan on uncorking my exhaust to start with my modifications. I have heard different numbers on the gain in hp if you bypass all three cats. Obviously I want to still keep some of my warranty intact, so I don’t plan on very many mods. Maybe even a boost controller. Again, I point out that the STi makes 29 more horsepower and doesn't have a FMI like the Evo8. I am not dogging SR20DET's, 4G63's nor the new STi 2.5 (still don’t have the engine code).

I hear you, I love the WRX, I was just expressing that I can't see myself buying a new car cause every car I test drive isn't nearly as fast as the SR20DET.......... The one car I did drive that was really fast/luxurious/handling very well was the Infininit G35. The coupe wasn't out yet so I drove the Sedan, but even that thing was nice. I think if I had the money that would be the only car I would buy.......
