Wrong Power Fc ecu.... *****!

Hey guys... Welcome to another installment of "The Gods Damn U".

Today, i have found out that this weekend was wasted trying to get my car to work as I have the wrong damn power fc ecu..... Great.

I have the 414-n003 and that is not for the cars running the 62 ECU.

Here is a link to the chart that shows the one that i have, and the 414-no14 which is the one that I need.

If anyone wants to trade, or know how to repin the ecu, I would really appreciate it. Im so screwed. I really want to get this car running. Again, thanks in advance.

PS: If any of the sponsors would be nice enough to trade me the one that I have for the correct one, that would look really nice......

So basically you have a blacktop motor and a PowerFC ecu for a redtop. If that is the case how much are you willing to sell for? I might be interested.

Ummm, you have the right one.

You have the first gen version, and according to that list the 414-NO14 is just the newer generation with no big changes.

The one you have is for these cars:Silvia PS13 1991.1 - 1993.10 SR20DET (redtop) 180SX RPS13 (previous term) 1991.1 - 1994.1 SR20DET (redtop)

The previous term means ECU #62. The middle term is ECU E5. The latter term is ECU J4.

Um... then how come it doesnt work. I have put the 62 ecu in my car and it works just fine. Im going to go home and check the model number to make sure.

I have heard from people on FA that it may be necessary to splice some wires before it will work correctly. I have heard from others that it is plug and play.

Please proceed to oe of our State of the art facilities... so that we may charge you a milliion dollars to say we did a messload of work and just splice 7 wires.....

What you said makes sense. I just wich I knew why it wasnt working correctly.

Swapping those 7 wires is only for the EURO and UK S14A(kouki)

The EURO/UK S14 kouki is slightly different due to stricter emission rules in our countries.Our S14 zenki has the same ecu pinout as the JDM version.

S13 sr's were never sold here so the s13 sr engine has not been changed for other countries so if you have the correct pfc version it should be plug and play!

I got a small suggestion from a guy in the Uk. He gave me some wires to splice and the such. It would make sense for him to say that according to what you say.

So what would you guys do? Im Trying to call these places but really getting nowhere quick.

I think I might have some luck. I called over to XS and the guy who picked up sypathizes with me. He drives an s14 with the same set up and seems like he really wants to help me.

I just read on FA that you get nothing on the commander.

Even if those 7 wires were wrong you would still be able to see things on your commander.

Maybe the pfc is broken.Don't you now anyone with the same engine as you cos if you do i suggest trying the pfc on his car....

Correct. I dont get anything on the commander. Whcih Kinda Sux. But oh well. Im going to just spring for a new one. There goes 1k, but also all of my damn headaches.

Im thinking of selling it on ebay. I will disclose thatit didnt work for me and it is not under warranty. I will sell the commander with it, since Phase2 is selling the comp with a free commander.

If anything I hope to make 2 hundred bucks on the commander.

Spoke 2 the guy who I bought it from. Told me that it used to work, and that it should for me. We are starting to go back and forth on what to do, dont know where this will go. will check back.....
