Hi guys,

My wife's 2002 i35 CEL came on recently. I have code reader and found P0159 and P1167 codes. After consulting the FSM, and reading this board (thanks!) I replaced the heated oxygen sensor HO2S2-B2. The FSM says the connector for this one is the green one immediately right (facing the engine from the front) of the light blue 3-wire O2 sensor connector. The O2 sensor location that I replaced is the one where it's mounted right at the crook of the exhuast pipe where it comes down from the front side of the engine. It's mounted on top of the pipe, and I ended up not using an O2 socket, but a 7/8 inch open ended wrench.

I bought what I presumed was the correct part, Bosch 15225. When I recieved it, I noticed a difference in connector color (new connector is blue, old is green) and wire colors (wire housing in the new one is black rubber while the old one is red nylon(?)) I figured it might just be a difference in manufacturers and didn't think anything about it until I installed it. Everything fits just fine.

After 50 some miles of driving, the P0159 and P1167 codes haven't popped back up, but a new one, P0057 has.

After a little research, I noticed Bosch makes an O2 sensor model 15224, which does have a green connector and red wire.

My questions:
Did I screw this up and buy/install the wrong O2 sensor by buying Bosch 15225? :frown:
Is there any harm in leaving it in?
Also, is the P0057 due to my new O2 sensor being incorrect? Or a totally unrelated problem? Or does the incorrect O2 sensor cause problems down the line, triggering P0057?

Here's a photo of the connectors:
The one with the green top connector and the blue bottom connector is the new one. The old O2 sensor connector and wire are sitting on the engine cover, as well as the box for the new one.

Hate to say it but I think you may have gotten the wrong sensor. The plugs are color coded for a reason. I would see if you can return the one you bought and get the correct one.

Hmm...yeah...I was coming to that conclusion. Thanks. Now I have to explain the mixup to my wife...
