I purchased new chrome lug nuts from Auto Zone, and they gave me 12 x 1.5 instead of 12 x 1.25. Didn't notice they were the wrong size until installing the second one and it began binding. I am sure the first lug bolt will be totally stripped if I remove the nut. The second lug is only stripped on the first couple of threads (will probably just cut those off and re-use the old lug).

Can a new lug be pressed into the hub of a J30? What would be a reasonable price? Auto Zone looked up my car in the database then came back with the wrong size lug nuts. I just assumed they were right. Dumb mistake, I know. A little research would have saved me a lot of trouble.

Thanks for any info

You can press in new studs, the first one is probably shot, the second one, you might be able to chase it with a die to restore it.

Is it front or rear?

It is the rear lug. What should something like this cost? Is it easy to remove the hub so I can just take that part it in and have them press it in, or should I let them do the whole thing? Good idea on the die...I was going to cut it off, but that would probably take it out of balance.
