Wrong leaf springs?

On the ground the new ones look like a match to old ones but I can't get the center point to match up with hole in the axle and the back bracket will not fit no matter what position I put the axle in.
Has anyone else encountered this problem before? Will not match no matter if the axle is up or down.

UPdate: Got behind the axle and kicked it. Saw it wiggle. Jacked up the axle to where the pin was sitting on the springs. Got on my knees and grabbed the wheel and pulled and jerked it until she popped in.

Picnic joke there for anyone that wants it.
